Stanton mixers

I just bought 2 Technics SL-1200 M3Ds and a Stanton Sk-6f mixer (which I know is used mainly for scratching) but I've been reading reviews and realize that this isn't the best mixer, although it is good for its price.

I just want to make sure I won't run into any problems while I learn to beat match and the basics of mixing. I've read that the mixer isn't as important as the turntables while learning how to DJ so I'm not too worried but I'd still like your guys' professional and honest opinions.

I learned to beat match on a mixer that only had gain control, up/down faders and a cross fader. I think you'll be fine.

Sounds like the mixer I had.

To the thread starter, you'll be fine, just because its a scratch mixer doesn't mean its gonna be harder to mix on, its got EQs and channel faders, thats all you need when starting out.

limitations inspire creativity

as long as you have the techs you'll be fine, the mixer doesn't matter as much when you're starting out, effects get in the way of you learning the important thing, beatmatching and flow

as long as you have faders, cueing, and eqs you'll be fine

i have a crappy numark mixers (150 bucks 5 years ago), and 3xmk2. shitty mixer make me learn how to take care of gain, sound volume etc. a friend which use to mixe on djm600 at club always do bad record sesion cause he doesnt take care of sound level.
if your mixer is decent (not berhinger one) you will have time before changing it.
you will need to change mixer when you would have crappy sound on fader, etc. or when you will have money to buy a better

mixer ~ 300-500 euro like nuo2-3, vestax vmc-004 are really good. and more confortable than a 150 euro mixers.

Funny you mention effects because I was so all about having them on my mixer. It's probably been 6 months since I have used an effect in my set.

Yeah effects are pretty useless in trance sets, especially when there's too many of them, they completely ruin the set.
