YouTube Strikes Verizon Deal
A deal between YouTube and US mobile firm Verizon Wireless will see the popular video-sharing website extended to mobile phones
Users who subscribe to Verizon's Vcast service will be able to view content on the YouTube website via their mobiles.
The trial, which will begin in December, will also allow users to post video clips from their phones more easily.
It is likely that similar tie-ups will follow as mobile operators look for a slice of the social-networking pie.
More than 100 million video clips are viewed every day on the YouTube website.

Get a life people! I don't understand why people want to have things like MSN on their phones...don't you ever want to get AWAY from the computer and interact with people in REAL LIFE?! Some people spend too much time on their cell phones (and I don't mean actually talking).

What a waste of money...listen to the radio or talk to the other person in the car!
I can understand if you're a business person and are awaiting an important email while you're out of the office...or maybe for weather and traffic updates. But to sit around and watch tv or surf the internet on your phone...I just don't understand what happened to real life people! Relationships are so electronic now...even with people who are right next to you! I love some of the benefits of new technology...but technology doesn't always equal better.

The only good use of internet on a phone (in my opinion and for my purposes) is the addition of 802.11g to it, not through the cellular network.

Well, the music and the talking was 95% of the time or more.
But the convience of being able to check my email and check the review of the party I came from was great and so appreciated.
Just bc i was browsing/reading doesnt mean i wasnt interactive and we werent still carrying on conversing. But yea, one could be.
How hows taht any different from one wanting to ready a book... that occupies ur attention too and would cause u to ignore a fellow passenger... if anymore more so, bc i consentrate alot more when reading a novel.
Plus, what if i was traveling by bus... im not talkign to random ppl around me usuallly on the bus. No one does.
ANd when i was leaving on the follow sunday, killing 2+ hours in teh airport, I really wish i could have accessed the net, would have been so much more enjoyable than just playing my iPod and reading (didnt really wanna read).
I see the use of this, and i can also see what you dont like about it... bu the handiness is undeniable and a luxury id want to have avaialble if i wanted to pay for it.

The point of my post wasn't necessarily towards you though Jamie.
It was towards people who use their cell phones and blackberries ALL the time and can't get away from them. I'm sure we've all seen it...people on their cell phones checking email while they're out with friends, or having dinner, while visiting relatives.
There's one example I can think of right now...I know someone who is literally on her black berry at all times of the day. I don't think I've ever seen it leave her hand. You can't tell me that you're getting emails at every second of the day! At least not the person I'm thinking of...she's not the CEO of some huge company.
I just find it sad how much technology is distancing us from each other when it's meant to "bring us closer"

No one does? Think again.
Social people do. I know I do.
I'd die of boredom if I didn't talk to someone while travelling (bus/plane/whatever)...
And just because you find it "weird" to talk to strangers doesn't make it weird...

Very true.
I just usually dont feel teh desire to pass my time on the bus talking to those (i dont know) aronud me.
If you do or dont, both are fine and neither shold be considered "wierd" you are right.
Id be bored too on the bus if i did have music, my thoughts or a novel to read.
Talking to ppl is anoher way to pass the time enjoyably.
I merely intended to note that in my 2-3 years experiences of riding the Greyhound from Collingwood to Barrie, then Barrie to Toronto and back a couple times a month, generally speaking I didnt see/notice many pessengers striking up conversations with those they do not know who sit beside them on the bus ride.
