Big and Tall? How about Small and Tall?

I'm annoyed. Why is it, that they never have pants long enough for thin women? Seriously?! Every store I go to, their "long" sizes are just a joke. It seems like it's a pre-req that if you're tall you must also be fat and have thunder thighs.

Are any of the handful of ladies that get on this site tall and thin? Where do you buy your pants? I'm a size 1, sometimes a 2 depending on the brand & 6'0", and I can never find pants long enough. If they're long enough, they're too big.

LOL@thunderthighs

I get that issue with shirts, I have a big neck and long arms, and finding a shirt that fits in the chest and shoulders without making me look like the stay-puff marshmellow man - can be annoying.

Posted by Slylee on Nov-29-2006 17:59:

i guess the camera does add 10 lbs. lol

i mean, not that i think you're fat...it's just that you sure as hell don't look like a size 0 or 1. and if you really are, and you're 6'0....for christ's sake, eat something!

what's a thunder thigh?

why you decided to take a look?

Posted by AndreaCKY772 on Nov-29-2006 18:05:

yes i'm a size 2 and it's hard for me to find pants long enough. go to EXPRESS!!!! you can get your jeans/pants in long or extra long!!!!

Posted by lcid on Nov-29-2006 18:07:

well, i'm not tall (5'5") but i am skinny so it's hard to find jeans/pants that fit well. i usually rely on Express, American Eagle, Old Navy, and Abercrombie & Fitch Kids for my jeans.

I've gone to express, but then like I said the thighs are waaay to big.

And Jamie, you haven't seen a recent picture of me at all. And I do eat, a lot. I just eat healthy and work out. I weight about 127, give or take a few pounds

Posted by RandomGirl on Nov-29-2006 18:22:

They also have the same problem with short people too.

I have wider hips, but short legs. I ALWAYS have to get them hemmed. It's a massive pain in the ass.

yeah that's true some of the thighs are big. i bought some work pants from them some months ago and only one of them was a tighter thigh "grip", lol. um...arden b has some really good work pants too...the thighs aren't tight but they flow well!! i don't know about their jeans though. but i also have to keep in mind you said you are 6'0. i am 5'7.

express and arden b are the only two stores that have the best match for me. the jeans i was talking from express were the sarulas and etc. back in 2003 or so. they fit like a champ! i wish they still sold them. the jeans they have now don't fit well but at least the work pants are better.

Rock & Republic which makes something like a 37" inseam, and they make you feel like a goddess worth the $$$

edit: I am 6'0, same problem

You are really underweight. I am not trying to pick on you or anything, but seriously, 127 and 6 feet tall? That is really unhealthy.

I am 110 and 5'2. I mean, think about it. You have 10 inches on me and only have 17 more pounds? AND people think I'm too skinny.

Perhaps you should consider getting on a program to gain a little weight, even if it's mass.

The reason you can't find jeans that fit you is because you are not in a normal range for your body. You have a "model" body, which is very rare, and so therefore the company will obviously not make sizes they most likely wont sell.

In all sincerity, I suggest you talk to your doctor. I am sure they would back me up when I say that you need to gain a little bit. Perhaps you have an over active thyroid or something? As much as it's wonderful to have a metabolism on over-drive and not be able to get fat, it is a sign that something isn't working properly in your body. Anyway, consider it.

buying off the rack is an inconvenience for tall people.
To buy a dress shirt that has long enough arms and a big enough neck off the rack for me means it will be baggy as fuck.It sucks, but you need to find a specialty boutique.Costs more, but such is the price for being bigger than average.
Shoe shopping is a bitch too because they never have the shoes i want in my size.We have it in size 11 is the sentence that pisses me off the most.Like i'm going to buy shoes that don't fit.

Youre being a bit of a hypochondriac. For some people it is normal, and they are healthy as oxen. Obviously its not something thats common, but it happens... nothing to get worried about. On the other hand, if she was 6' and under 100, than there might be a problem.

Ive come to the conclusion that, if I find a shirt that I really like, Im gonna buy it and get it tailored for $5, instead of paying $50-100 more for something that is off the rack and fits.

If you do ANY kind of research, you'll see that it is commonly known that being 6 feet tall and being much under 140 pounds is not considered a healthy weight.

Normal according to who? For some people it is normal, thats just their body type. Like I said, youre being a bit of a hypochondriac.
