last yr a small green laser came out

L2N:
is there gonna be stuff dropping out of the sky like in the advertisement?

One thing I can say is we are really trying our best with what we have and working day and night to make this night somehting special. It already is very special as we do have one of the best parties on the planet, Montreal should be proud of this event as we are very happy and proud to be hosting this special night.

The sexy vibe of Montreal + a great venue that allows events like this + a stellar line up + and 7000 people.

What more could you really ask for that is realistic?

I respect your opinion as well as everyone else's but the reality is we do have great music, it just is not your taste or other people's which is fully respectable. I am sure there are people who do no not like our line up and we are very ok with this, one thing we can say how ever, is that there will be 7000 people under one roof having a great time, with good friends and listening to music that they like/love.

One thing people should undertsand is that with every single club and promoter in the world biddding for talent on New Years, there is alot of competition which cause's numerous issues when trying to put toegther a massive event on a night that everyone and their mother's seem to come out.

Godskitchen and Bal en Blanc as truely proud of what we have and consider our selves very lucky to have a line up like we have and be able to offer the people of Canada the first edition of Resolution of many Resolution's to come.

See who ever is commming there and for those of you that do not come, we wish you a a very happy New Years where ever you may end up.

Thank you all and all the best!

lol....I dont understand this hate on the forum. Instead of people appreciating others work who try improove nightlife and offer something special all you hear is comments of hate. With out Bal En Blanc and GK there wouldnt be any massive in Montreal. Without Diskho, The Trance Project, Akarien Pro and many others just cant name them all off the top of my head there wouldnt be any bookings. Club dont book djs on their own.. and if they do except for Tribe maybe it very rare. All these people make up the special nightlife Montreal has. You people should wake up and appreciate and support every single event. Yes you dont like the music, and you dont like the people and this and that.. but instead of posting useless comment at least tell them their doing good ... or to work on some aspect... tell what you like and what you dont. Every promoter likes to see people having a good time and knowing what they do wrong just like any company test their product satisfaction with their little surveys. It does not mean either you need to attend the event but attendance and support are two different things.

Anyways just my 2 cent... maybe some people feel my thoughts feel free to comment.

three words: emo minimal kids...

hahahahahhaha :P

p.s: great flash, keep up the good work.

Exactly! We sghould all be happy that the town of Montreal has so much to offer on New Years and so many differnt events. Besides Los Angeles this is the best party in North Amercia for a massive and Montreal has it!

Honesly I surf every other section in TA and Montreal has so much hate for such stupid little thing that just drag on and on. People here are working their ass off and taking risks (yes there are risks) to please people and it seems that it is always the same people just bashing this and bashing that any chance they get. Honeslty it is somewhat sad and I can't understand it.

New years and the holidays are about being happy and ending the year with people you love, parting with friends and turning a new leaf for a brighter future (this is what I think and just my opinion).

Instead fo seeing the glass as half empty try looking at it as half full as life will become alot brighter from doing so.

Anyways thanks for the kudos on the flash Marcus, it feels good when people actually comment on good hard work instead of try and figure ways to be negative and pick at any little thing they can for their own satisfaction and misery.

Oh please.
You guys booked tiesto for one reason only, money. I would do the EXACT same in your situation. But please dont try and argue that you're some great hero for the music world in north america and tiesto is TERRIBLE so dont try to pretend you're doing some great work for the scene in montreal. You guys just want to make as much money as possible and i respect that, but dont try to decieve us.

Yes we want to make money just like any other buisness but we do try and put quality into what we do and not just half assed. If that is all we are about would be spend serious money on web sites and flash among other things and booking other artists to complete the night musically.

Honeslty if you only knew what the profit margines VS the actual risk you would be surprised and if you were more mature I would take the time and explain this to you so you would actually know for once what you are talking about. And please do not try and say you are mature as anyone that has "I eat pills for breakfast" next to their name clearly has alot of growing up to do.

Closing this thread tommorrow as you have oncea gain brought sour milk to the dinner table.

As you say "Owned and trust me Owned"

L2N no worries, Tag constantly whines with his little following of haters on this forum. Never satisfied. I am pretty sure Tiesto is like the # 3 DJ in the world, like him or not hes one of the best in the world and to have him in MTL on New Years is pretty special, I'll be there with my friends. I don't think Tiesto is a special Dj but I do know one thing where he is the party is always good. What people have to realize is you hardcore EDM lovers (that analyze dj's like last nights hockey game) are a only a small tiny fraction of people who actually go to EDM events, and in all honesty promoters could give two shits about you, because guess what resolution will be packed to tits either way if you go or don't. Sure sit at home on New Years and tell your self how much Tiesto sucks and how much better Sasha or w/e other Dj you worship, while everyone else will be having fun at Resolution.

It's funny you choose to phrase it like that.

and mizza318, you basically just outlined many of the reasons why a big part of scene is shit, and clearly only around for the $$$$.

Good going guys!

so basicly promoters should book djs... break even or loose money to make this small EDM analyst crowd happy ?

No not at all.
What you're doing is great. What bugs me is guys from resolution who want us to kiss their ass for them making these big events.
Why should we? they're doing it for money plain and simple. And like i said thats fine to be in it for money, but dont tell us you're doing US a favour its very pretentious.

Posted by Allied Nations on Dec-03-2006 02:13:

There's the music side and the business side - let's not confuse the two.

That's all I'm saying.

Posted by Zinger on Dec-03-2006 02:15:

Sorry to say but booking Tiesto on NYE is a BIG accomplishment. We SHOULD be grateful that we have promoters who still have the balls to throw massives because if Godskitchen and BEB wouldn't, then no one else would. The same people crying now would be the same crying if there were no massives.

Im proud to say that one of the MOST POPULAR and sought after DJ's in the world will be in my city on the busiest party night of the year, although im not a very big fan of his.

Promoters Should make money. You think the guys booking Sasha & Digweed, Desyn, Carl Cox, Sven Vath and others in the UK aren't doing for the money? They're doing straight for the cash. In their market, that's who would make them money. In our market, Tiesto.

If promoters don't make money, that means no risks on their future bookings because they won't be able to take the loss, that means no progression of the scene. If Godskitchen makes a lot of money this year, what makes you think they won't book someone more "underground" next year.

Yeah you could say it could be better. Why not book Hernan Cattaneo, John Creamer, Moshic, Chris Liebing & Mauro Picotto for Resolution? Those are my favorites but im realistic. Not everyones favorites will get booked.

Be happy with what you've got. It could be much worse, imagine you lived in Ottawa

Thank you to all the promoters & local dj's that put on edm events in MTL. Without you guys, i'd be listening to fuckin shitty ass southern hip hop in clubs.

Be appreciate. Stop crying like 8 year old school girls.

my 2 cents

Posted by Allied Nations on Dec-03-2006 02:30:

i think the real guys with balls are the ones making chancier bookings and trying to bring in different talent to the city, make some money but really just throw a bombass party.

I'm not saying Resolution won't be fun, but @ $100+ a ticket now and considering most of the DJs on the bill play fairly regularly in Montreal it just isn't in my mind very exciting musically.

Sure a party like this has a lot of value, I know a guy who barely ever listens to EDM and is going to this with his buddies, good stuff, good for him - I started going to massives 4 odd years ago, and they've always been fun.

But throwing a massive doesn't do for the scene what the smaller more underground parties do. Not even close.

They are two completely different scenes, and as I said before, let's not confuse them.

This thing is going to fucking rock with out a doubt and most likely be one of the best NYE events ever MTL has had and we are fully greatful and appreciative for all the artists playing for us and all the people that will be showing up.
