music...

so this is tranceaddict...

music obviously affects every one of us.

but it's those specific tracks that keep us going...the ones that bring you up... when you are sober, the ones you keep playing on repeat...the ones you CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT.

what is it about music that changes your mood? that makes it like it is therapy? that you can turn on and will transform your state of mind?

what do you guys think? music = drug?

Posted by tubularbills on Dec-01-2006 06:37:

music is pretty sweet. it always enhances my moods. if i'm sad, and i listen to something a bit down, it makes me more sad/depressed.

likewise, if i'm really excited, and i listen to something totally bangin', then i get even more pumped up.

so yeah, music doesn't change my mood, but it definitely enhances it...thoroughly.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Dec-01-2006 06:38:

Maybe drugs are just trying to imitate music - did you ever think of that????

Posted by eRRaTiK on Dec-01-2006 06:39:

music = memory

i associate songs/tracks to past events, a favourite place, event or memory. though it may even be negative such as a breakup.

music = life

music has the power to heal, to calm, to soothe, to invoke emotion. it can relax me after a stressful day at work or it can energise me in the morning on the way to work or before a night out.

so yes, music can be a drug and it's definitely addictive.

Posted by Caela on Dec-01-2006 06:39:

there are some tracks that can bring me out of a depressive mood into an uplifting one...

they can bring me from black to white...i just think it's interesting that some patterns of notes can transform one's mood.

Music is life for me. Either its Techno thats banging my mind, House thats soothing my soul or Trance thats making me wanna fly on a unicorn & touch the sun, it brings me life.

Posted by chimchim on Dec-01-2006 06:41:

without music i would be one angry person...music is what keeps me goin when life gets shitty....

Posted by Caela on Dec-01-2006 06:43:

to get personal...tonight i was really upset about my grandma, whom i was very close with, passed away last june...out of no where i just started thinking about her...and i put on some songs, out of comfort...it really help me grasp a handle on my emotions. this is not the only time...whenever i am having trouble, i look to certain tracks...i'm positive other people do this as well...

and it helps.

i am just facinated by the fact that different tones and beats can help your emotions travel a specific way...

its almost like a subliminal message...tellin u to feel a certain way... but it does kinda vary from person to person...

Posted by kadomony on Dec-01-2006 06:48:

it's about chord changes.

chords are important because they fuck with your feelings.

why? dunno. thought about that many a time. why specific waveforms and chords sound "good" when they are harmonious while others sound "bad"

anyway, Lange vs Gareth Emery- Another You, Another Me is kicking my ass right now

Posted by Caela on Dec-01-2006 06:48:

i just think it's insane how beats can control brain patterns...anyone with psychological educational opinions would be greatly appreciated right now.

It's because vibrations at specific frequencies stimulate our xitrusk gland back and forth through aural exhibitors in the ear that bend and sway with the ear drum as it dips back and forth. They remind us of the sweet caress of the great magnet at the very centre of all things - that thing we knew before we arrived on the oceans of Europa thousands of years ago. Through the sheath in the pineal gland located just beneath the xitrusk membrane, hive memories passed on through our genes have sung to us through space frequencies resonating throughout the universe since the big bang - this is why you see static on your television on the earliest channels. Anyways, we like music for the same reasons we often dream of flying - because, just as somewhere in our evolution, we were birds; somewhere in our evolution, we existed as beings of pure energy - inertial and entropic to a degree beyond current comprehension no I'm just kidding, or am I?

lol...i'll give it to you for effort.

i guess it's the same concept as 'love'...how come think of it as a mere chemical reaction...whereas it may be...but most of us are romantic and believe it to be worth so much more.

music is more than just a chemcial reaction.

Every single song in the mix in my sig has got me personally. I totally know when you are coming from Caela. It is essential to my everyday live, these songs and musicians. I sleep to their tunes, wake to them, dance to them, etc.

The sound track of my live fucking rocks.

yea there's that, or it could just be that musical patterns stimulate our brain in the same way certain experiences would. this can make us feel good, and therefore evolution has kept this coincidental link instead of phasing it out.

Posted by Caela on Dec-01-2006 06:54:

i always think how sick it would be if there were a 'soundtrack' playing at every point of your life. similar to a movie...but without using headphones at every stage. if there somehow was a supernatural way that 'it' would just know what appropriate song to play at every moment, every emotion.

Posted by chimchim on Dec-01-2006 06:56:

i have a soundtrack to my life... unfortunatley im the only one who hears it...

Posted by eRRaTiK on Dec-01-2006 06:56:

you could probably piece together some sort of soundtrack of your life, but fuck that'd take a long damn time and a lot of hard disk space

Posted by Caela on Dec-01-2006 06:59:

...or anyone argue with me on this...

music has influenced an action in your life. like you were on the fence about something, and a certain song came on, then leading you to make up your mind. it's like the final push. i guess what i'm saying is that it's so confusing/incredible that wavelengths can impact emotion.

Basado En Hechos Reales (Feat Nona)
by Nach Scratch

(Nach Scratch)
Es Mi Caso, La Historia De Un Triunfo Y De Un Fracaso
Calles Donde El Amor, Se Convierte En Un Bien Escaso
Nadie Mira A Nadie, Nadie Dice Ni Pio
En Pleno Mes De Agosto Y Yo Siento Tanto Frio, Vacio Tio.

Por Que La Gente Desconfia?!
Por Que Si Eres Legal Te Patean Dia A Dia?!
Por Que Siempre Tienen Ms Los Que Menos Lo Merecen?!
Por Que Los Cabrones Rien Y Los Honrados Padecen?!
Por Que No Puedo Ser Libre, Si No Hago Dao A Nadie?!
Por Que Los Que Lo Hacen Siguen Estando En La Calle?!

Y All Es Donde Estoy Yo, Protegido Por Los Mios
Paz A Mi Colega Fran, Que Me SacDe Ms De Un Lio
Y Ahora Sonrio, Cuando Rebusco En Mi Memoria
Recuerdos De Miseria, Recuerdos De Victoria
Recuerdos De Esa Gente, Que Por Mi No Dio Ni Un Duro.

Siempre Le Plante Cara, A Aquel Que Quiso Patearme El Culo
Escucha Esta Historia, Es La Historia De Mis Males
Es Mi Historia... Basado En Hechos Reales.

(Nona)
Y Estas Son Las Cosas Que Suceden En Mi Piel
Los Dias Son Breves, Ya Lo Se
La Vida Se Consume Sin Querer
Y Esta Es La Vida Que Me Toc Conocer
Las Noches Son Tristes, Ya Lo Ves
La Realidad Me Puede Y No Se Que Hacer, Que Puedo Hacer.

(Nach Scratch)
Siempre Es Lo Mismo, La Misma Calle, El Mismo Parque Alli A Lo Lejos
Me Miro En Un Espejo Y Siento Que Me Hago Viejo
El Reflejo Del Sol En Mis Ojos Duele, Por Eso Me Protejo
No Dejo Que Me Las Cuelen, Dame Un Poco De Tu Tiempo
Y Yo Te Doy Un Poco De Mi.

Con Mi Utensilio, El Micro, Cuento Historias De Cosas Que Vi
Fantasmas Del Pasado, Echan Su Aliento En Tu Nuca
Y Las Cosas Ms Podridas Que Nunca
Envidiosos, Que Se Hacen Llamar Colegas
Ponen Trampas, Obstaculos, Bolsillos Vacios

Pies Que Duelen Cuando Andas, Solo Contra El Mundo
Y Sin Nada Que Perder, Con Alma De Vagabundo
Y Con Mucho Rap Que Hacer
Para Asi No Enloquecer, Para Asi Poder Crecer

Desahogarme En Tus Oidos, Es Mi Mas Grande Placer
Algn Da Debo Desaparecer Y Se Que Es Cierto
Que Nadie Hablar De Mi, Cuando Haya Muerto
Pero Yo Tengo Mi Historia, Existen Muchas Iguales
Basado En Hechos Reales.

(Nona)
Y Estas Son Las Cosas Que Suceden En Mi Piel
Los Dias Son Breves, Ya Lo Se
La Vida Se Consume Sin Querer
Y Esta Es La Vida Que Me Toco Conocer
Las Noches Son Tristes, Ya Lo Ves
La Realidad Me Puede Y No Se Que Hacer, Que Puedo Hacer.

(Nach Scratch)
Son Ya 23 Aos, Luchando Contra Todo
Son Ya 23 Aos, Arrastrandome En El Lodo
Intentando Salir De Esta Realidad
Que Es Bruta, De Esta Vida Puta
Te Esfuerzas Por Combatirla Y Ni Se Inmuta

Y Nada Nunca Cambia, Los Dias Son Copias Unos De Otros
Las Mismas Calles, Los Mismos Rostros
Siempre Teniendo Poco, Pero Dando Mucho
Considerado Como Un Loco, Pero Nunca Escucho
Recordando Personas, Situaciones Y Lugares
Repasando Mi Vida, Basado En Hechos Reales.

(Nona)
Y Estas Son Las Cosas Que Suceden En Mi Piel
Los Dias Son Breves, Ya Lo Se
La Vida Se Consume Sin Querer
