WTF! Paul Oakenfold is a legend

In the article (link) below, there is a list of the worst music artists of all time..... So why is Paul Oakenfold at number 35..

I think that they have got that a bit wrong, dont you think?

tbf, the descriptions for some of the artists/groups are pretty spot on.
in oakey's case? i don't know what to do care anymore. can't really give him that much credit, he didn't do much of the stuff on his own for starters. but his coproducers (very loose term since they did the most of the stuff) over the years managed to create some of my fav records of all time.

his album? had it's highlights, had it's downpoints, but mostly blandness, nothing that i want to listen to anymore tho.

Oakenfold rocks.. although his artist-albums havent been of the highest standards.. but his remixes definitely rocks.. even today.

That's a bit old. Had this been done after A Lively Mind, Oakenfold would have been waaaay higher.

And you should take Blender about as serious as you do its parent publisher, Maxim. I find them quite amusing... well, at least less pretentious than Rolling Stone or Spin.

Blender lol.

Anything published by Maxim carries about as much weight with me as a grain of salt.

Edit: Ok, now I'm laughing really hard - How you can put Primus & Blind Melon on that list at all is absolutely lol worthy! Clueless fucking gimps.... At least they got the ICP right...

half those groups have respect from me so i wouldnt take that list seriously at all...by the description the guy doesn't seem to know much about edm anyways...

Yea don't agree with some of artists on that list including Oakenfold!!!

I think whats more disturbing is that JAMIROQUAI is on that list. wtf are these people smoking??!

that list is just judging oakey's craptastic artist albums and not oakey the dj-ing demigod of the 1990s. i like a lot of the artists on that list like air supply, alan parsons, asia, etc., but it doesn't make them any less shitty.

The Doors made the list? wtf...

why isnt dj mikey mike on that list?

Oakenfold is definitely a poor artist. He used to be a fairly good DJ, but I think Tiesto contributes more to his own productions and has better productions than Oakenfold ever did. If there was one DJ that you can definitely say just stamps his name on his productions, it's Oakenfold.

I know right. I used to read blender kinda like how people read the scandal rags and such but fuck them if they think jamiroquai is one of the worst bands. And dissing the drum solo on In-a-Gadda-da-Vida. what shame

I was more upset to see Master P on that list.

The guy had some classic under ground albums, and had a really leading edge dirty south sound.

All the copiers took his thunder.

Cant Believe Live is on that list,they had some poor songs but they're in Coldplay's level imo...i fucking hate those stupid Pop papers,suprised to see they didnt call Oakenfold's album 'techno'.

Holy damn. Apparently talent wasn't taken into consideration at all during the creation of this list. Les Claypool from Primus is one of the greatest bass players of all time. (Next to Victor Wooten of course) Celine Dion (while annoying) is a fantastic vocalist. It isn't her fault the Titanic song was raped. And don't even get me started of the Door's. This band is what basically set the standard for psychedelic themed Woodstock music.

You have to keep in mind, the people who make these types of lists are the same simple minded pricks who all think that Panic at the Disco and AFI shit is the greatest in the world. Biast list. They should be sodomized with a chainsaw.

I've seen oakey quite a few times and while I don't like his commercial club style of trance and the fact he uses cd's instead of vinyl. I still think he's a damn good dj for the basis that he's dislexic and see's everything backwards! As to the list,..well you can't read the sheeps manual for idiocracy and expect to get all the latest in sheparding your loyal undergound following.
