Review: 29park (London, Ontario) with Manzone&Strong

we arrived a little after 11pm. shortymanda was at the door having a smoke and i almost walked right by her until she said "what? you dont recognize me because im wearing my glasses?" i agreed but really wanted to say "its because you dont have a thong on your head".

the place wasnt that busy at the beginning. walked up to the elevated area next to the dj booth and was greeted by adikted2trance by the bar. the venue was slowly filling up. people on the dancefloor were going off to joe and fab's set. a few people came up to compliment them and meet them. there were a couple idiots that had to get kicked out for being dumb and annoying but they were funny to watch.

closed down around 2:30 and we made our way back to the hotel. michelle and amanda joined us to chill out for a bit. michelle was a trooper and stayed awake until 7 and amanda, well, she passed the fuck out like a baby. lol.

good times in london. its a little different since most people there cannot dance for shit but its still fun.

great set lastnight good times dancing frickin jay being a guv asian sitting on the couch so i had to force him to get off his ass and dance! lack of sleep + rev's and such, woot i was on a roll again in heels even!
was awesome to meet doug and ben and basia and the others as well!
london needs more toronto people to take over on nights like this!


and yes i actually passed out listening to super funny detailed stories from fab and jay playin with my hair or was it joe, i dunno i was samiched in between and exhausted and so comfy ahhahaha

*inserts joes whistling nose noise here*

Disappointed that I could not go but heard that the event was kind of weak. I bet joe and fab played a gd set as usual but london can just not handel music like this. (being from london i know) Next time try the phoenix - the only place edm is appreciate in london. Saturday nites in the pad have become quite sucessful. 29park is comparable to lot 332 aka not a good place for an event.

not just the girl. remmeber the brown guy that kept asking me "who is manzone? who is strong?" and i would tell him "the guy playing right now is strong and manzone went for a smoke". he would nod then ask "who is manzone?" and i would repeat "manzone is outside for a smoke". he would nod again and ask "so who is manzone? who is strong?" i gave up. he was sitting down next to basia and kept trying to talk to her and she kept ignoring him. then he would try and talk to me. then he would get up and try to talk to fab but would get ignored. then he proceeded to talk to joe but joe went running for the border.

thanks for getting me off the couch but i can only dance for a few minutes before i get exhausted. i like to blame it on the many years of smoking. oh btw, thanks for grabbing my crotch.

and fyi, it was me playing with your hair. joe was passed out in his ninth dream already.

This will be very short and sweet .. 4:05pm .. still at work .. and ya still no sleep .. brought a few red bulls to work with me .. smart move i must say lol .. other than the lack of voice .. i feel pretty good

so i got an account now after last nights discussion lol. now another reason to procrastinate. anyways, decent night. woulda liked 50-75 more people. a lot of people backed out last minute with their wussy talk. i was riding on an hr of sleep from docks the night before. only me and amanda were trooper enough to come out yesterday. no pics. i coulda taken for you

thanks to fab for dropping my track. def made my night. nice seeing a lot of you 2nd night in a row. nice meeint basia in person. we kinda know each other through friends/facebook. the london crowd is uneducated/ doesnt really know how to dance. such as me. but i was pooped from the night before. yes that guy was a little annoying. lol it was good there was no room in the cars. cuz i needed the sleep. woke up at 2. and i still have class and have to start the study crunch for exams.

next time will be better. it'll be on a better night. i think we're planning for thurs in january

I hate myself rite now...It is true London seriously lacks in the EDM department...too much top 40 bullshit

dont promote phoenix considering they fucked gary (4 yr resident dj)over by thinking they just dont have to pay him and have been wanting "edm" nights out of there for some time stating that we make them absolutely no money and dont bring a good crowd. Aside from paying the dj's to come here what more has been done? we've been demoted to basement with a system that either works or it doesnt.
nothing is truly appreciated in london in general there are only a few faces u ever see at every single event no matter what the rest is all dependent on if their friends say it's cool to go or if they have heard of the dj (which i must state that we've had AMAZING dj's that oddly these so called fans know nothing about)or if they didnt party to hard the night before thru to the next day, etc.
Trying to explain to people in the pad while donald glaude is there that he is MASSIVE and they still just dont get it proved to be annoying or explaining who Joee Cons is and so on and so forth.
The lack of support within this city has disgusted me i hear whining constantly about not having good events/music and yet we bring many amazing dj's here and barely anyone shows up cause they got to fucked up at "the farm" or the zone or this or that too many excuses.

i've grown more and more disappointed in this city and the scene here

i wish i had been part of lush days back when there was more of a scene here with a true following oh why cant we do time travel

I am glad you guys all had a good time. I was going to come to this, but of course after my extended Saturday night I wasn�t ready to dance anymore. Plus I had my Chem. exam this morning at 8 am, it was a good idea to stay home and study.

You people need to understand.... London as a whole has a lot of people who enjoy edm. The city has always had a scene� The city doesn�t have a venue that can handle this type of crowd anymore.

p.s. Please don�t talk up the Phoenix so much�.. I still think the retards running that place will drop the ball on the edm crowd and run the club in the ground.

first, london people need to stop bitching and complaining how there are no events; there are now, there will be in the future! you just need to stop saying how you went to (insert "top40" venue/event here) because it was packed and everyone went there and you got drunk out of your mind.

second, thanks for everyone's support. turnout wasn't as good as expected but considering the fact that about 1/2 of the GL didn't show (wtf. is the point of getting on it then?) it was great.

third, another thanks to michelle, amanda and justin.

fourth.. so, who's manzone and who's strong?

LOL! hahaha was a great night tho i mean with our crew we had going, all great people good positive vibe and fun times!

ya i agree. there are enough london folk who enjoy good shit. its just getting them to all come at the same time. management is stupid there. ive gotten to that point now. took me long enough. well i knew it but always thought that they would click one day... so. thats why we have miljan/simon bringinging in djs until we get something entirely worked out... if we do. anyhoo, we'll have this again in January

there are. just that theyre all dedicated to the students (focusing more on the general student population). thats why barking frog is a lot better this year. cuz they have 2 promo companies working there. but theyre starting some house-related stuff. so watch out the next year or 2 once edm western gets going. we'll have some good stuff

also one of the funniest moments of the night was during our commute to london. we stopped at the last tim hortons on 401 west. fab saw a trucker that was holding a mug/bucket that holds about one and half pots of coffee. fucking insane!
