I'm gonna blow up my CD burner...
...unless someone has a good suggestion on how to fix my problem.
Alright, so I'm burning a mass ammount of CD's, then boom, my burner quits working, everytime I try and put a blank CD in, and try and burn a CD, it says "Please insert blank media."
Well the blank media IS in, and it won't work. So I try my DVD burner to burn the music CD, and wallah, it works, but only at 24x, and my CD-R is 52x.
So I thought, "Well, my CD burner probably crapped out." and bought another burner.
So I install the new burner, and it detects it, and I can put a music CD in, and it will play it, but now nero won't pick up my new burner, just the DVD burner.
So I figure I'd uninstall nero, and reinstall.
Nothing!
I've checked the slave/master setting. I think what I'll try next is disconnecting my DVD burner, and installing the new burner in it's place to see if it works. Any other suggestions?
try another software?
I always loved Nero the most, what's a program that's similar, or even better?
i had same problem man and answer was so simple
if your using nero check up there in right corner where you change which burner you gona use ... once for me it switched auto to dvd burner which i had not installed so it was saying insert blank cd ..... i just turned that thing off for auto switch an bam changed it works fine !
CheetahBurner is decent
Blow it up, film it, and post it on YouTube.

A little more info.
I have two cables, on the first cable, I have my hard drive, and my DVD burner, on the second cable, the only thing I have on it is the CD burner, think it will work if I swap the DVD/CD burner cables, or will this not make a difference?
best thing to do is, put your dvd + cd burner on 1 cable. but before you do this check if 1 drive is master and the other slave. and on the other cable only connect your hard drive. then startup the computer, and do the same procedure over again in my previous reply. then it should hopefully work.
Here's another thing, take a look at this screen shot:

Does it matter that my CD burner says 0:0 and doesn't work, and my DVD burner says 1:0 and works? Or does that have nothing to do with it?
I'd switch cables. Look around in your BIOS too for things.

i have the very same problem.... just let let the burner cool down for a little bit...then start again...once i let it sit for a few and then restart... it usually works again...
i think he f*cked something in the Bios.
Well, I decided to ease my frustrations on a little bit of green shrubery. I have come to the conclusion that I'm just gonna blow up the entire computer, and build a brand new one with dual-sli *drool*.
I'll probably just fix it tomorrow, when I care more. haha
