New to trance scene.
My boyfriend (who is in love with techno, trance, house, electronic) introduced me to these genres a couple-of-months ago.
The one that I've found particularly interesting is Trance- I love it.
Yeah. I'm a n00b to the whole genre, so to any of those TAs who are feeling helpful... what would be some good songs to download or djs to check out?

I'd prefer personal opinions over a search engine.
Vam Damme loves the House music!
Anyway Ill try to help you out, im not a fan of trance anymore but look at Sander Van Doorn
Shhhhh. Someone quietly inform the brunette lady that she accidentally put teh panties outside teh pants.
Jonsun lurks
Some people will tell you that trance is dead
Um, this entire site is about electronic music with its main focal point being trance. Take some suggestions already given. If every new person made a thread asking what dj they should listen to, we'd have nothing but shit threads. Instead of asking and being babied through a musical preference, why not do most of the exploring on your own?
The fact that you didn't jam all EDM into the word Techno shows that your serious
There are TONS of sites to download sets from many big name DJ's. After a dozen or so posts, UK Trance Alliance lets you download excellent sets. The same is true for URTranceZone.com.
Start with some Armin van Buuren and see what happens. Don't like it?
Follow up with some Markus Schulz sets.. just grabbing something and running with it will probably suit you best (: (: (:
Me personally?
I'm currently enjoying Victor Dinaire's Lost Episode #64 at the moment
Thanks, guys.
What the guy with the cow doing non sense in his sig said
2 weeks from now
new thread --> trance sucks --> i want good music suggestions guys ktxbye.
Some songs that got me into the edm scene are:
Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel
ATB - Ecstasy
ATB - It's A Fine Day
Ferry Corsten - Punk
a lot would say these are lame, but I don't think they are. These are just some of the few that got me hooked. if you like these songs, PM me or something and ill give you some more suggestions.
Good luck!

Ill be serious for once.
The fact is trance music is often the music cited as the path to EDM.
Most people have discovered EDM through trance (in these years). I have (through psy-trance to be precise).
The fact is trance has been there for a long time. The problem is that it has not evolved a bit since. Now it sucks. Took me a few months to realise it was pretty sterile.
(there is a new type of trance emerging but i wont get into it its too confusing for now)
Explore through trance (go through the Ferry, PVD, Armin, Tiesto, or any other generic trance DJ and producer) but dont forget there are 72 +/- 4.3 other genres of EDM in this world.
Trance is one of them....and it sucks...
so good luck and see you in two weeks for real music !
Alt.
just try anything by tiesto, armin van buuren, paul van dyk, marco v, bt, above and beyond/oceanlab, ferry corsten, paul oakenfold's older productions, andain and delerium to get you started. the bigger artists were what first got me into trance, these guys have made some quality stuff in the past whether dick heads here will say they are cheesy or not
. download alot of the stuff off tiesto's in search of a sunrise series and armin van buurens a state of trance 04, 05 and 06 aswell.
there's too many quality artists out there to name them all but these guys should be a good starting point for you.

tsk, tsk, someone wants an intro into the genre and some people brush them off? people develope their own taste by being exposed to what others put before them. unless you compose and listen to only your stuff. then you live in a bubble. fun.
hybridized.org
beatport.com
vonyc.com
accessable discs to masses:
paul van dyk - politiks of dancing
tiesto - in search of sunrise 5
armin van buuren - a state of trance 2006
that should get you started. it's not all "new" or even strictly trance, but i won't get into semantics, and i won't bore you with the raver "the last one was so much better/this shit is so played out" mentality.
you'll find what you like, just keep looking from there.
If you want to hear the most upfront stuf from both the more progressive and main room styles i would suggest downloading Jon O'Bir's and John OO Fleming's most recent radio shows. That should kick you off well.
"Classic" sets you will find kicking about all over the place. But for new stuf thats where i would start
