Our house is bland and doesn't have one.
We have to wait till tomorrow for someone to fix it.

My mom is up making sure my pops is comfortable.

No sleep tonight, I guess

they turn the heat on more overnight

Posted by KilldaDJ on Dec-06-2006 15:18:

its not rly that cold in england.

though the thermostat is at 25-30 degrees C and the ambient temp around the house is about 16-18 degrees so thats not awful.

Posted by Ian on Dec-06-2006 15:21:

jeez, i only set mine to about 65f in the coldest days! it's like in summer, you can count on one hand the number of homes with air-con, we just sweat & moan, like real...... clowns ?

Posted by _Nut_ on Dec-06-2006 15:24:

During the day mine is set at 65 and at night 61. With high heat and electric costs... I don't mind wearing long sleeves and wool socks.

Suck it up princess.

precisely, it's so easy to wear a sweater or a long sleeved t-shirt & some warm socks. Fuel prices in the UK have gone up at such a high rate in thel ast 2 years that you have to look at ways of making money go further

Posted by makija on Dec-06-2006 15:31:

here in canada houses are so insulated due the -50 and such haha so really you flick the heat on for about 20 mins an your house is warm super warm for next few hours and no need to dress up to go to sleep haha

Posted by RJT on Dec-06-2006 15:34:

When I went to bed two nights ago, the temperature in my room was over 100 degrees Farhenheiit, when I woke up at 4 in the morning, it was closer to 40.

Our heat sucks

Posted by Ian on Dec-06-2006 15:35:

for cheap heating, buy an old Computer, like the Cyrix range from a while back, which overheated regularly!

Posted by Orbital32 on Dec-06-2006 15:49:

Screw being cold! Temp says its 72F, turn that crap on to 78! Its heat, its whats keeping me warm.

Posted by grooviebeats on Dec-06-2006 16:02:

I wasn't really complaining about the current temperature. It got down to 57 last night. I was concerned more about my father more than anything.

Or just an old CRT monitor. Those put out a shit ton of heat.

So is this the point where we are taking your cue to ask about your father? Is that the point of the thread? Why not just talk about him, rather than have the random person say "ohhhh whats wrong with your daddy?"

Not really. I've posted about him before.

It was an event that made my house crazy, and out of the ordinary. Worthy of a thread, IMO.
