Arrow How does Tiesto create that "reverse effect" (reverse sample, reverse reverb?)

Hi,

Anybody can explain how for example Tiesto in Danc4Life and other tracks creates those sounds that seem to play reverse?

Is this done by reversing the samples, or using reverse reverb,..? What do you think?

A bit of both, perhaps?

One technique is to take your sample in an audio editor, say Sound Forge.

1. Reverse the sample so it plays backwards
2. Apply a reverb with a long tail
3. Re-Reverse the sample so it plays forward again, but this time it will have the reverb tail sound like its fading in.

HTH.
