Nic Fanciulli – Lucky Heather (Dubfire’s Lucky 13 Remix – Parts 1 + 2) Available now

Nic’s ‘French Kiss’ homage, ‘Lucky Heather’, first appeared on Renaissance Recordings in late summer, having wowed clubbers in Ibiza and beyond, with genre-defying support coming from across the board, from Laurent Garnier to Pete Tong, Mylo, Sasha and more! Despite this support, it’s still a very happy day at Renaissance Towers when you get a call to tell you Dubfire’s been on the phone personally asking to remix the record, ‘Hang on, let us think about that for a moment…

The result is 13 minutes of scary-ass, techno mayhem that twists and turns, an intensive torrent of dance bliss that takes the record even further into the darkest recesses of peak-time. But it’s also a remix that surprises as much as it entertains and delights, its character constantly shifting with the kind of masterful skill few producers are capable of.

The perfect record to kick-start Renaissance Digital and establish it as an outlet for music that challenges and defines.

Nic Fanciulli – Lucky Heather (Dubfire Remix) is out on 11th December via djdownload, beatport, i-Tunes and all good digital stores

Eh, it's not bad per se, but it's far too long and doesn't really do all that much.

5/10

The original is pretty bland unless used at the right time, and in the right way...but this is even more zzzz.

I really would ike to sit down with some big producers and ask them what they're hoping to accomplish by producing these 13+ minute tunes. Honestly - The vast majority of times they just aren't fun.

I like them if the intros/outros are tailored to long mixes, but otherwise its pretty useless, unless the tune really needs the length in order to go several directions...

The answer is quite simple Rob. When it's time for the dj to take a wee they throw on one of their loooonng tracks so that they'll have plenty of time. You think I'm joking, but honestly I think this is the case. I played the entire 14 mins of Pryda - Aftermath because I had to pee

track def drags a bit.

last 4-5 mins aren't even needed, they dont add much to the track but just make it drag on. if your gonna drop this. mix out early and it might go well depending where and when you drop it.

well, when sharam came to dallas a few weeks ago, he left the booth to pee and didn't get back in time, and the track ended (silence for about 10 sec).

Wow thats fucked.

I can generally effectively piss if I drop a track that's > 7:15 long

It's all really just part of being a totally 1337 dj.

And that's why you need the 13 min+ extended mix

I can do it in under 4 minutes. Just beatmatch the next track and set it all up, then run!

I usually just run as soon as the transition is over, and make it back in time to throw something.

Only takes a second to beatmatch, I like to give myself time for a satisfying piss!

Something to bear in mind....
if you really can't handle the 13 minutes of this monster there is an edit which is also avialable now at all good download sites.
Just look for Dubfire Edit.
What you have to consider is that this is a pure dancefloor record, much like the original, its full affect isn't felt until its played to a good dancefloor.
It does the business...
Fanciulli at Creamfields, Argentina.... 30 000 people can't be wrong.

i like the record. if you cant handle a 13 minute track, you are an amateur.

Maybe he had to take a dump?

Actually instead of asking for an escort to take him to the boys room, he took off on his own, and of course said hi to some ladies then proceeded to wait in line for a stall like all other paying customers at the club and just lost track of time. On his way back the song ended and he quickly got up to the booth and started the next cued track..
