I do the opposite... u know it all depends on the speakers you have.
some are better than others.

I boost the mids and a little bit of the low if needed to... let the highs as they are.

Exactly. Both the speakers and the amplifier create a curve of their own, so the important thing is eq in relation to how your system sounds.

I keep the sound flat on the source and boost highs and lows on the amplifier because it makes the sound warmer on my system.

The people who master the records should know how to EQ so you don't have to.

Precisely, I leave EQ settings well alone. Well, apart from my subwoofer, which is set to -4dB to stop me dying at high volumes.

I put it on Club Setting, seems to work the best. There's a techno setting, but it's too bass and treble heavy. I like something a bit more balanced. It's very much like DJ Charlie's EQ preset.

I usually end up boosting the highs a tiny bit.

I keep the bass on normal, don't do anything to the mids and make sure the highs stay unchanged...

But everyone's speakers and amp etc will make the record eventually sound a lot more different than what the enginneer originally wanted. I mean like they can't master for every single different equipment configuration. Some people might have a very bass-heavy system, etc. So the EQ is sometimes necessary
