Okay so here's my review. Again, sorry for the tardiness but as you well know I was out of action for a few days.

I can see that you were trying to 'build' your set up by using the first three songs, which (IMO) were prog. I hate prog so those first three tracks almost drove me insane. Things started to pick up a bit around So Serene, despite the fact it wasn't the Menno fierce dub. The Thrillseekers remix of Eternity was too slow for me, but again, I'm sure that was part of your 'build'. The rest of the set was great starting with Beyond Doubt. Great energy and flow from that point on.

Mixing and transitioning: excellent.

I for one do not (and prolly never will) use prog to build/open my sets (that's just the way I am) but despite the fact that I disliked it, it still fit the set well. Good job on this one.

thanks you sir. looks like ill have to tweak my approach to get a 10/10. lol i was gonna warn you there was a bit of prog at the start. i dunno, thats just me, i think recorded sets/cds need some prog to get things started and set the mood for the rest of the set. live sets are when you need to bang it out from track 1. i only got about half way thru your set last night. thanks for the feedback. ive got another in the works

DA,

I'm glad to see your own style of mixing choice has already begun to show itself to be different from how everyone else is mixing but you will soon find that if you stick to only one style of flow..that banging or emotional side of trance... it will be very hard to stay atop the good new shit that is going around. I started only spinning harder trance and then got more into epic stuff..breaks started to get into play..and then i tried expanding my sets a bit more to incorporate both opening and closing sets.. with the opening ones being more prog and the closing sets being more towards the harder in your face style..

it also helps to switch it up to keep fresh alot of the track you like so much. i do this very often and come across diamonds in the rough that are often overlooked because they are not part of the A list of producers..

one example:

01-mystery_islands_and_harmaala_pres_kde_-_4th_floor_(find_me)__original_mix-doc

check that one out and lemme know what you thinkg of that.

Yeah a little warning would have been nice. Still though, like I said, I didn't like the prog but as for getting the build up for the set, the tracks did the job. It's just something I wouldn't do as I'll state in my post below.

I look forward to your next mix.

It will be difficult, yea but let it be known that my style incorporates mixing a lot of old tracks with new stuff. Changing it up is a good thing but I also have a stand point against prog. My policy in my playing style is: I don't play crap tracks. Prog for the most part in my opinion is pretty much nothing BUT crap so that's why I stay away from it. When I find a track I listen to it to make sure I like it and to make sure that I play it without regretting it later.

I do look for those 'diamond-in-the-rough' as you call them, tracks as well. When I get a track it's either something I can or cannot use.
