Question shower question (safe)

it's not the type of question you think it is!

when you go in the shower, do you keep turning up the heat? for example when you first fix the temperature to as warm as you want it, do you turn it up later?

so basically is there a temperature differenc from when you first fixed the temperature of the water to when it's time for you to get out the shower?

Yes.

always depends sometimes i'll slowly increase it to be hot and then when its too stuffy i take it down to ice cold

which ever works around the seasons ..

Posted by jonSun on Dec-11-2006 20:01:

Posted by Boomer187 on Dec-11-2006 20:04:

My skin is red by the time I get out. Hot showers ftw.

Posted by Slylee on Dec-11-2006 20:07:

no i like to scorch my skin right when i get in. then i like to end it by cooling off a bit.

Posted by bas on Dec-11-2006 20:09:

I have to turn the heat up as I take a shower because my water heater sucks. It gets colder after I adjust the temperature...what a piece of crap!

Posted by _Nut_ on Dec-11-2006 20:11:

Very warm to start out, the cooler as I wash my face (Don't like hot water on my face...scalp yes face no) then warm again and turning it up more the longer I stay in.

Gradually turn up the heat until I'm ready to clean my face and then I lower it so I don't scorch my face.

I had a very hot hot hot shower today - I kept turning the hot down, but it wouldn't It felt nice though, and usually in the winter I have hotter showers to clear the nasal passages & to relax my back !

I like relaxing in a hot bath too, especially in the winter with some victoria secret "secret crush" bubble bath and epson salts!

Posted by Slylee on Dec-11-2006 20:19:

it's like a good kind of pain...i can't explain it. i have such sensitive skin, but for some reason, i'm able to tolerate very high levels of heat, as far as water/showering goes.

my ex bf's didn't like taking showers with me lol

"hey hone..JEESUS!!! turn it colder! wtf"

"no way, u get out then"

Posted by Ygrene on Dec-11-2006 20:23:

It really depends on time of day it is for me. I usually shower twice/day so, in the morning I take cool showers to help me wake up and in the evening I take hot showers to help my body relax before sleepytime. But yes, at night I progressively turn the temperature up as I get to the end of the festivities.

I like it barely above lukewarm to start, then I gradually make it a little warmer.

My insane wife likes to melt my skin off.

Posted by nchs09 on Dec-11-2006 20:33:

i start the water hot and then move it to cold... that way im not freezing my ass when i get out :_)

Posted by Sunsnail on Dec-11-2006 20:34:

I start it hot and keep it steady the whole way.

We should start a clique for people who only take static-temperature showers. Because, ya know, the c0r is sooooo clique-ish these days.

Since were on the topic of showering, Ill spread some knowledge.

Its actually bad for your skin (especially in the winter) to take an excessive amount of showers. I mean, its cool to get in there and strictly rinse off, but lathering your body with soap every time you shower (especially if its more than once a day) strips your skin of its natural and essential oils.

My dermatologist even said that when you do your once a day shower, you should only wash (with soap) places like under your arms, behind your ears and your private parts, and thats it. Other than that, theres no need to wash your entire body with soap , unless you work outdoors and are filthy when u get home (or after the gym). I never use soap on places like my legs and arms and stomach. Only a few times a week I will, like after I shave, Ill use some body wash, but Im more of a rinser and just use soap/body wash in the essential areas that need cleaning. Oh yea and feet. Thats the only thing Im a psycho about. I always have to use a pumice stone and foot scrubpretty much for every shower.

Same thing goes for your hair. I only wash mine about 3 or 4 times a week. My hair actually looks better, the longer I go without washing it.

I KNEW IT!! My roommate is fucking crazy. He takes two, sometimes three, showers a day. Just to take a shower. It's so weird.

hmm never knew that..guess that explains why my hair which is usually like a brillo pad seemed in better shape after 3 days of camping and no running water..
