They are at the top and middle of the page. Right next to the logo. Before the profile button. Above where it says "Ads by Google". Pretty much in the most obvious spot possible for ads.

it used to be promo's for events in toronto, and WMC. now it's just garbage, TA is officially a whore.

It still does - and - depending on the scope of the advertising campaign those ads are only shown to IPs that are from certain geographic areas. There are banners up right now that you can't see unless you're from a certain state/country/province -- unless of course you go to the local forum for that area.

As for the Google Ads - they are context sensitive based upon thread content - given the britney and other thread topics shown recently it's only natural for those keywords to be picked up on.
