Farewell, Aria
Closing doors. Last party on Dec. 23.
Aria, you gave us some good times. Thanks for the memories.
that sucks,
it was one of the clubs i had been trying to check out for years but somehow never got around to it.
r.i.p. aria
really seems like the montreal clubs are taking a back seat to these big parties.
I've never been there ... but, RIP. You guys held it down proppa on the east side of things.
it was the best
Great times... Carl Cox '03, blue floor lights, unisex washrooms and very friendly people.
First afterhours I ever partied at back in 2003.
I am upset that I cannot be there for the closing party though. That club holds a special place for me no matter how shitty it had gotten in the last year. So many great times were had there though and I have A LOT of good memories.
Aria was always where it was at and I am certainly gonna miss that place! <3
i dont remember when it was that i went but it was a few years ago. i went twice in one weekend and had a blast both times. friday night was sven vath and saturday night was deep dish. oh, the memories. i consider aria to be one of montreals afterhour landmarks.
Nobody did it like aria.
Here's the official topic;

I posted a couple months ago about this but everyone said I was full of shit.
Well, looks like the time has come
I never did make it to Aria, but I'm well aware of the legendary venue. It will definitely be missed both as a Canadian classic venue, but to the Montreal clubbing scene as well.

Shitty news! I remember the first and only time I went there. Dave Clarke was supposed to play but he cancelled. I was soooo pissed because I had been waiting for Dave Clarke to come for a couple of years. However, when I got to the club, the residents Preach, Yaz and Mini tore the fucking place apart. I was actually glad that Dave Clarke didn't show up because they were so good. I really enjoyed my time there, and it was only a resident night!
afterhours are going downhill big time, i know many who do not want to party without their drinks or wait till 5am for the main dj
...
rip Aria
...
rumour has it will become a club to compete Opera $$$$$.
went there last new years day good times really liked the vibe
Yeah, the thread's been active in the MTL forum for a bit now. Sad news, but not unexpected. I've gone a few times, and a few years ago, it was the best. Hell, for me it was fun every single time. The vibe is always super. I've always been there from opening minute, to the very last minute before the doors closed. Awesome place, but attendance, from my experience, was at a drastic decline in the last year. Sad to see it go. Probably the most fun party, and the best night I've had has been at Aria.
went there once- adam freeland- one of my first real dark underground afterhours parties-
it was a crazy night- experienced a lot and learned a lot-
never made it back but the memory is still there-

Pretty much the best DJ booth in Canada.
What a shame.
So many good times there.
I've never had the pleasure.
Aria I will miss you, the few times I have been to see Preach, Tiseto and Mistress Barbra were killer!!!! Even when the taps stopped working and overflowed teh unisex bathroom it couldnt ruin our time!! Farewell Aria, you will be missed!!!!
