Nintendo Wii is perhaps the most fun invention in the history of mankind. Discuss.

Myra and I got to play it this weekend - And good lord can I not wait until we have one of our own (hopefully next weekend)!

The only stuff we really got the chance to get into were Wii Sports Bowling, Tennis, and Boxing, but I was shocked at how much fun each of those was with a bunch of friends and a little pot!

I was also somewhat shocked at how small the Wiimote is - Really fits well in your hand, and seeing how many games they already have up on virtual console only sealed the deal!

Thoughts?

I'm going to make you cry with my next comment, but I had my eyes set on the 360 only because of Halo 3.

Meh - I've got a 360, it's a great console! It's kind of a "no comparison" situation - The Wii is just a totally different kind of experience.

I always thought the Wiimote would be a dumb idea, but now that it's out and everyone has a boner over it, I guess I need to see what all the fuss is about

the only thing that sucks about Wii is that RJT and i will be fighting over whose house we get to keep it at.

i've seen people playing it. and the graphics are pretty slick as well.

the Wii is much better imo. the x-box & ps3 are both gfx related, nintendo has a long history of good gameplay & that's why i'll always go for something from them (and in the older days, sega too) over the others. There is a major shortage of wii's here though b4 xmas, so im going to wait until the fuss has died down a bit & pay a good price for one.

Guess I'm the kind of gamer which doesn't like standing up all day and having to move your arms/hands constantly to play a game. Seriously, doesn't that become annoying after say, a few days??

I'm gonna wait for PS3.




Edit: the proper term is 'backwards compatibility'. It means you will be able to play the older games on it as well. Like you could play your PS1 games on your PS2 and your PS1 and PS2 games on your PS3.

You don't have to stand at all.

Every game we played you could sit anywhere in the room and the controller was exactly as responsive.

u can legally load up old nintendo and sega games on the wii!!! totally going to get F-ZERO

It's all about wrist movements m8 - You figure them out, and you can do it anywhere.

And it's not like it kills you to stand for two seconds to bowl two frames, the couch isn't going anywhere
