File sharing in Europe (wht do they use?)

Here in the U.S. file sharing is a big thing. We use limewire, bittorrent clients and such but I notice that it tends to be people from the U.S. who share the files since most of the files are hiphop and very few are trance...

What does the majority of Europe use?

Posted by noikeee on Dec-18-2006 23:29:

We use this nice little program called Napster. It fits well with our 56k modems. If only we had broadband internets like over there in America.

Don't get me wrong, but I meant illegal file sharing.

An equivalent to Napster is iTunes I would assume.

What I am talking about is what is the KAZAA or Limewire of Europe?

audiogalaxy

Bittorrent and direct connect. We experience the same thing over here more or less, but inverted, i always wonder where all the americans on the internet are. All networks are filled with polish and czech dudes with crap connections.

TA does not support filesharing.

But on the contrary, and from the UK, I use Bittorent and Frostwire.

I find a song, and put it in the mail to my friend. he puts it onto his computer & then posts it to another. we've shared lots of files like that.

KLF rock! In fact - as far as I heard, KLF were gonna rock you. Did they ever get round to it?

Not as far as I know. It'd be cool if they did a special reunion tour around Scotland though. Dunno if it'll happen. How what is it you meant?

Direct Connect is the best p2p imo. All the Czechs seem to use that one.

3am Eternal: KLF Are Gonna Rock Ya

(Was me trying to be funny!)

I happen to think that if they did a one off concert, charged 100 per ticket they could fill Wembly Stadium.

Easy. People would come from all over the world......

Posted by vbmaster on Dec-19-2006 14:09:

BitTorrent is the main source... but I only go after it if there was no direct link for the content (i use a tool to sniff direct links).

If nothing appears on both direct link and bittorrent, i open my emule client.

Btw, how much maximum internet speed do you have?

In here i have 4Mbps DL and 265Kbps Up, with those shity traffic limits: unlimited traffic for nacional, and a limit of 30GB for internacional.

What does 56k mean? Is that technology in Europe only?

ho ho ho, just kidding.
I get an average download speed of 600-700kbps here.

$29.99 a month.

I love America.

Ah I get it, 'whooosh!' lol

But yeah, I wish they do something like that again.

what's all this mess with Czechs here?

Posted by Treo on Dec-19-2006 18:36:

bittorrent and dc mostly here in scandinavia i guess, ed2k if you need to find some rare / old stuff. lots of ppl have 100mbit connections which means 4-6 Mb/s downloads with bittorrent. but that's not on the big open trackers mind you..

this is all what i've heard anyway, i ofcourse buy all my music / movies
