Activa Presents Mekk - Twisted / Restless [Discover Dark]

Discover Dark continue to be one of my favorite labels.
The quality is consistent and they never fail to the deliver the goods.
This time around, it's no different.

Activa dons his Mekk guise and delivers 2 awesome albeit contrasting singles.

On the A-side is 'Twisted', a solid, thumping bassline with a fairly standard structure. The melody seems very familiar and to be fair, sounds nice but, common. Nonetheless, very decent material for club play. 7/10

B-side is what this EP is all about.
It starts off with a similiar bassline as twisted but the percussion is groovier and more rolling than 'Twisted'. A short intro leads to a mini-break and an awesome quirky synth gradually comes in and the track just explodes from there. Once into the breakdown, we have a short moody interlude and then it builds (those quirky synth sounds are also added in) until it eventually slams back into it's awesome groove.

Superb tech-trance with a funky edge. - 8.5/10

yeah, i reckon the dark dub of Restless is a good one, been waiting for its release since I got Live As...

-I'm also eagerly awaiting "Drop it, Your Love" which is the next one out on DDark from memory, more to look forward to.

im also desperate to get my hands on drop it, your love, when are they going to release this!! by far discover darks best release!!! anyone?any info?

well its next in queue, both Drop it and Restless were scheduled for October release, so you would think it should be out soon

restless is the best i've heard from activa in ages. energetic & driving but at the same time rather groovy. quite like it

twisted is ok.. nothing more
