hate to disappoint

but i got eaten alive out there today in soccer. there were players from brazil from italy from france, from all around the world. total different calibre players then me.

i wasnt the worst but i was far from standing out, however, i could keep up.

here i am a provinical player vs international players. craziness. best experience ever tho, ill never get a chance to play with those caliber of players again.

ill find out if i make it in 1 hr, however i really doubt i made it. these guys had ball skill like i could never even dream of. it was fuckin an amazing experience. glad i got to try it.

That statement there pretty much sums up my high school soccer career. Regardless, my freshman year team set a new school record of 16-3-2 and took second at state in our division.

As for your experience, I'm sure it was a great time. I've played with a couple kids from Brazil who's ball control and juggling skills were definitely on a whole different caliber than mine, but at the very least, you can learn a lot from seeing and playing with people of that level.

awesome

Regardless of whether or not you make it, it's awesome that you had the chance to experience something like that. Sounds like a ton of fun.

Sidenote: It's weird seeing a serious side of Eric.

I looked up as i was waiting to eneter the stadium with huindreds of ppl watching and news reporters everywhere and i noticed a guy walking in who played in ym league. not just any guy, but the guy i scrapped like last year during a game. he looked at me and recognized me and gave me this dumb look. so i gave it back and entered the field.crazy experience guys,u have no clue

just trying to paint a picture of how fucked up it was, like were we tried out its an indoor field. and theres the field in the middle and abt 20 feet above you is where everyone watches, sort of like the collesium. its crazy to be such a spectacle like that. i loved it

quite understandable. Having a crowd watch you play something you thoroughly enjoy and subsequently praising your efforts always feels good.

I have to ask though, what's a measly little provincial player like yourself doing, and I say that with the utmost respect, playing with a bunch of international players? What were you trying out for?

Posted by bas on Dec-19-2006 20:06:

Sorry to hear that Eric. Why would you say you'll never get this opportunity again though? You never know what will happen.

Posted by bananas on Dec-19-2006 20:28:

The excitement you get from a cheering crowd is amazing indeed, if you're playin at home of course.
mmmm..the days when I played basketball

Posted by Frenchie on Dec-19-2006 20:35:

Oh Eric, I was thinking about this all day! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I know how much you want it! I was routing for you at work!! I hope all goes well, and if you don't make it, don't let it get you down. You know you have talent.

Posted by Boomer187 on Dec-19-2006 20:52:

you remember that time the crowd was chanting my name and I used my strength to rip my blouse.

Posted by medinaM5 on Dec-19-2006 20:54:

it was open tryouts. and i didnt know there were going to be all international players. i signed up cause someone told me abt it and theyre like this is your chance. so i went and signed up, like months ago. anyways great experience getting to play with some of the greats from around the world. rumour has it del piero and christian vieri may be traded next year to toronto FC. thatll be damn cool.

so yeah the place was packed with people from other countries who have probablky trained there whole lives to go pro, and then didnt make the cut so they all flew in for their last shot at going pro. it was wciedk nevertheless.
