Girly question time, tee hee!

it's been a while since we've had one of these "girls-only" threads, but i was curious what your favorite brands of make-up are. i don't wear a ton of it, and i usually just buy the stuff available at drugstores, but i'm kind of interested in finding some "nicer" and higher-quality brands... so i was hoping some of you gorgeous girls out there could direct me to a few of your favorites!

also feel free to list any random makeup tips or tricks you might have!

Me and bas do each other's make-up before gigs. He buys it all with his gf though, I dunno what the brands are...

oh but you are both so beautiful without makeup!

dallas - Aveda is definitely one of my favs, as well as L'Oreal and Neutrogena.

And put on each other's obligatory leather thongs?

me personally, i don't wear a lot of make up. the foundation i've found that's nice though is bare minerals. it's like a loose powder that's 100% natural minerals and they're really good for your skin. you can get a starter kit at ulta with like 4 of the powders and a brush for like $40. i go cheap-o for eyeliner and mascara, usually maybelline. as far as eyeshadow, i love m.a.c. it stays on all day, and the colors are generally pretty vivid and kinda sparkely...which i like. you can get more neutral tones there too. other than that i don't really wear anything else except like chap stick...

what kinda tips do you need? is there a specific area you're having trouble with?

i thought Aveda were only hair products. I like them, very natural ingredients.

footcream and clover leaf.

loreal and covergirl are pretty good...

i am not too familiar with the super expensive brands like clinique/estee lauder (are they really worth the money?)

1. always use lotion first

2. i think powder works better than liquid cover up...ewww it's feels so gross to smear coverup all over your face, especially in the summer.

3. if you want to use eye liner, go for liquid. it takes a little while to get used to, you have to keep your hand VERY steady, but i think it gives a more cleaner look.

edit: ooo, and don't waste your money on lip gloss...get a thing of petroleum jelly

It seems as though Lilith works (or once worked) for Lancme. Perhaps she will have an opinion when or if she decides to come by...

ive bought clinique for gf before, you get a really nice orange bag to carry the stuff, so yes its worth it..and the perfumes are hot.

but the best perfumes and colognes are from Bond no.9 NYC. If you can shell out $200 for a bottle, go for it..its worth it. Try Fashion Street, Chinatown and Scent of Peace.

benefit has really nice "clean looking" natural style makeup. It looks so gorgeous. I love it! for more over the top type things I like MAC & Urban Decay...

but definitely try Benefit. Their rose cheek stain is AMAZING

nah, nothing in particular. i guess my main focus is foundation... i'm trying to find something that doesn't wear off or fade after a few hours, yet i still want it to be light (not sticky) and healthy for my skin. i have naturally pinkish skin and i blush easily so it's hard to find light stuff that covers well and still looks good.

i've been using the same L'Oreal eyeshadow for forever now, and i love it... probably won't ever change that. same with Mascara, Maybelline Great Lash FTW!

i don't wear much else besides that. sometimes eyeliner if i'm all dolled up to go out, but on any normal day its just foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, and chapstick.

thanks for the replies girls!
