Cheap personal light show

I'm looking for a cheap personal light show that looks hypnotic, trippy, and awesome. It can be anything that illuminates -- a disco ball, a lava lamp, an LED strobe light. By cheap, I mean $200 or less. It's a bonus if lasers or LEDs are involved, if it projects onto a wall, if it responds to music, and if it looks sweet.

I found two things so far:

Laserpod $99.99

http://www.laserpod.com.au/gallery.html -- Wow!

Mathmos Space Projector $89.99

Any more suggestions? I'm sure everyone here knows what's good for this kind of lighting stuff...

ProSound seems like it has some awesome equipment, but that might be a little too professional for me. I was looking at the Chauvet Mushroom DJ Effects Light, but I probably wouldn't be able to find a good spot to mount it. The $60 price tag is a steal, though. It would probably be better with a controller, and I'm sure I'd need to buy some extra stuff like spare bulbs and mounting hardware. I don't think it would be worth it for a cheap light show in my room.

Right now I'm leaning towards the Laser Pod.

a 60$ unit in most cases won't even be usable with a controller.

Take a look on ebay

Can't beat that!

Well, I found schematics for a homemade light controller. I'm thinking I could probably cook up a software beat detection engine as a Winamp plugin and interface it with the lighting hardware using the serial port. That would be nifty and give me something productive to do.

Just to let you know, Laserpod is fucking awesome.

I've had one for about a year now and I still love simply lying on my bed, listening to music and staring up at the ceiling for hours on end.
