1) Got Microbes? Yes.

2) Mebbe.

Posted by bas on Dec-20-2006 06:03:

Shouldn't be that hard, I mean if the professor is asking for your opinion it's pretty subjective yeah? Just make shit up lol

life is the sum of all the experiences a human being goes through.

Properties common to terrestrial organisms (plants, animals, fungi, protists and bacteria) are that they are cellular, carbon-and-water-based with complex organization, having a metabolism, a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce andthrough natural selectionadapt.

An entity with the above properties is considered to be organic life. However, not every definition of life considers all of these properties to be essential. For example, the capacity for descent with modification is often taken as the only essential property of life. This definition notably includes viruses, which do not qualify under narrower definitions as they are acellular and do not metabolise. Broader definitions of life may also include theoretical non-carbon-based life and other alternative biology.

Okay. Okay. Serious answers now.

1. What is your definition of life? explain

1) A fun board game. I'm not very good at it, though.

2. do you believe there is life elsewhere in the universe? explain

2) Yes. I saw some at Toys'r'us the other day.

i think im gonna start with something like this...

I see life as everything known to man, from people and animals, to everything existing in the universe. Everything started from something and I think that for something to be living, it does not require having a heartbeat, life is everywhere.

(rough draft kinda thing)

Life, to me is a journey that we all take in order to improve ourselves in a number of ways. Some people make financial progression the most important priority in life. Others go about life in a more self-conscious way, attempting to become selfless and as helpful as they can be.

Posted by PvDoBseSSioN on Dec-20-2006 06:08:

all this has to relate to astronomy tho

Posted by Omega_Blue on Dec-20-2006 06:10:

i don't see how you can fail this essay when it asks a speculative question based on your opinion. i say bullshit it. ..are you supposed to persuade your teacher or something?

So explain to me this:

What does Tony Danza wearing my hair and clothing have to do with your journey towards improving yourself?

Life's not about improvement, it's about gratification. The progress we try to make only serves to eventually turn into something that pleases us.

Uuum i think they'd want something by way of differentiating living things such as animals, plants and microbes from non-living things like these rocks:

Everything started from something

Meaning?

quote:
and I think that for something to be living, it does not require having a heartbeat, life is everywhere.

(rough draft kinda thing)

I doubt there's any life on Jupiter, or the surface of the Sun.

Posted by PvDoBseSSioN on Dec-20-2006 06:15:

like i said, quick thought that i just wrote down, im still trying to come up with some good thoughts and material

it has to relate to the whole entire universe

BTW thanks for the help guys

there are elements in those rocks that are in your body.

think about it.

LIAR.

I know plenty of Sun people.

They wave to me when I look up at the sky. It's a happy time.

Actually the rock thing's a good point. Maybe you could talk about you inability to identify just exactly what makes a rock's "life" different from a plants, or for that matter an animals. Maybe this could conern you? Prof.s love when you're concerned.
