Gorg-o-mish: how's the sketch factor
Hello,
I was wondering if you West coast TA's can help me out with some info on the nightlife in Van. I'm coming for the xmas week and will be going to see AVB at Plush on Friday but considering 2 is crazy early for me (especially being used to the t.o scene w/ guv closing at 7) I may want to check out Gorgomish. I'm going with a gf of mine who has NEVER been to any of these types of events so even Armin may seem sketchy to her LoL. Is it a fairly safe and decent place or is it more like certain after-hours like in t.o (think comfort zone).
Any advice would be appreciated.
Oh, while you're at it...it's my first time in Vancouver...what are the must see spots for a tourist???!!
It's an afterhours, it'll be sketch. All afterhours are sketch but if you yourself are inebriated enough, it's actually quite tolerable. You may even sober up because you will rarely be the most high person there.
yeah, it sucks that Van closes at 2am. Gorg is bit sketch but should have a good spillover from AVB, not an overly big place but everyone's into dancing, no posers. Keep in mind it's gonna feel very late for you anyways with the time zone difference at first.
dunno about you guys but I cant handle the sketchiness at that place, especially without booze

you wanna talk sketchiness, lets talk about the violence that broke out at the vancouver's last rave
It's actually pretty nice inside compared to other afterhour clubs. Lots of comfy seats! I've been there once and it was D.E.A.D!!! 20 people max (and that included the DJ and bar staff)! My friend also commented on how empty it was when he went.
to tell you the truth i really like Gorgomeish. They play really good progressive music...and everyone is wasted and really into the music. Its a bit of a meat market but at least its not a bunch of electronic music haters....if they hated it they wouldnt be there.
