The Lizard Lounge
Am I the only one that thinks the Lizard Lounge sucks as a venue. Maybe it's the 17+ events, or maybe it's the horrendous looking Fire decorations, but after the Gabriel and Dresden show I swore the LL off. I thought Blue was a much better EDM venue.
Am I in the minority here??

I've seen some great shows at LL so I can't complain too much. I really like Seven but it's too small. I hope Karma is bigger and hopefully brings the headliners to Dallas.

lizard lounge's various rooms and rooftop make it more interesting as a venue, plus there's an actual FLOW to the design. blue makes me feel trapped.

I could go on and on about my likes/dislikes for the various Dallas clubs but I won't...I'll put it this way, I am ready for something new, a change.
I haven't checked out Karma yet but I have heard good things. It will be intersting to see how that pans out...hopefully something positive in the EDM culture will result.

I like the "Hell's Opera House" look of LL.
Dallas deserves a proper 21+ venue. If you go to other big urban areas like Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Vegas, shit even Salt Lake City, each one has a great venue for regular dance events. I think Dallas is on par with these places and as such can handle a proper venue.
The talent that comes through the Lizard Lounge is phenomenal. But, I think the venue and the 17+ crowd detracts from the overall experience. Last time I was there, there were puddles of 17 and 18 year old kids everywhere, looked to me like they were just there to get caned, thats not the kind of shit I like to see when I go out. It looks like a couple of folks in this thread agree that a change would be welcomed.
But hey, opinions are like assholes............
as far as venues go, LL f-n sucks ass...way too many kids. been to a few shows at blue and i think its ok but i dont like where the dj booth is, i thought it was cool at atb when they had him spin on the elevated area in the back of the club instead of in the booth, WAY MORE INTERACTION THAT WAY!! seven is cool, but small. went 2 karma, thought it was nice to see something different, and yes the system bumps. hopefully addison will be able to keep that place alive long enough to see more headliners there. someone bring back the tunnel!!!

Don't the residents play Hard Trance, Hard House, Hard Whatever on the non-headliner nights?
Hard House rallies the kiddies don't you know.

I haven't frequented the Dallas clubs as much as I'd like to, but I will be going to the lizard lounge for the first time on new years for Benny Benassi and am expecting to have a great time.
As far as the 17+ part, the youngins have to have a place to party somewhere. When we were that age it was a good thing, now that we've grown older we're wishing they wouldn't be there. But all in all(and I can't speak for LL in particular), it wouldn't be the same scene without the younger crowd anyway. Sure it sucks to have the dumbasses in the crowd, but there are the select few(responsible ones) who will go to the shows and as the years progress they will be in our shoes saying the same thing.
BTW, anyone else going to the new years show out there? Message me and maybe we can have a few drinks together to ring in the new year.
The Lounge has been part of my existence since back in the days when it was just The Church. It is by far my favorite of the Dallas venues. 
it comes down to this...
not everyone is going to like the lizard lounge. for some its just not what they want.
all i ask is that you give ita chance on the nights that i bring in some of the world's best artists. they all love the lounge and love playing there.
you can be in the nicest of clubs or the biggest shitholes, your good time is dependent on you. it is what you make it.
the lizard lounge must be appealing to some people...our fire events are rockin and it's been voted #1 nightclub in dallas by the dallas observer 14 out of thelast 15 years.

Blue is to damn small there VIP area is a joke..
i cant believe someone is comparing the world famous lizard lounge to blue.
i think LL brings out in the club the fun times i used to have when i was younger when i went clubbing... the blue vibe makes me feel older and more with a pretentious crowd...
the layout of LL is still one of my favorite club layouts in the entire US...
