Here's a cue sheet for you guys:

And come on, how many times have you heard a DJ overlay rhythmic sleigh bell samples over late winter storms and roots 4 acid! Check it out!

To be honest the tracklisting didn't really appeal to me but now you've done a cue sheet i'll at least listen to the mixing, give an opinion. Have you been djing long?

Maybe you'd do me a favour and give a quick listen to one of my mixes here:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...6&forumid=73&s= (My Kyau & Albert mix is probably the best one to go for)

Will post some feedback later/tomorrow

Give it a listen, flicked through a bit of it, as the tracklisting wasn't my thing really. Some really smooth transitions, i especially liked the mix into Sultan & The Greek which is a really nice track, thought it worked well (think it's on a deep dish GU mix?)

Anyway the tunes aren't the kind of tunes i listen to but impressive mixing, and with knowing none of the tunes, except for the aforementioned one it makes the mix sound way smoother.

Good stuff Adam!

Hi,

Thanks for giving it a listen!

Glad you at least enjoyed the technical side of it, though for me it's all about the music.. I've been playing out for two years, in regards to your question, besides that I play jazz saxophone, which i have done for a while.

There's one problem with the levels that I've since patched up in soundforge but you can hear it on the version that's uploaded. (not going to say where though haha)

I will show you the same courtesy and listen to your mix, even though KvA isn't really my thing (though I do own the Made of Sun hard dub) Actually if you have any drum and bass mixes I'd probably like to listen to that, what style do you push in Drum and Bass?

Thanks again.

Hi,

Well i haven't been spinning much drum'n'bass for a while, trying to do some trance mixes as i find the way you mix both are so different that i try to go through periods of sticking to one style. I play both liquid drum'n'bass (ie the more soulful housey side of things) and also the harder (techno) sound, i'm guessing from your tracklist you would prefer the more deep, house-y drum n bass i guess?

I have a mix on a romanian drum'n'bass site, but i have just clicked on it and doesn't seem to work but click on this link and if you like the look of the tracklisting let me know and i can upload it to megaupload or file factory that is of course if you know the tracks
http://www.drumandbass.ro/dnb/mp3/kevin_ferris/

Or if you prefer the harder stuff, i can upload a hard mix instead or as well.

dling, review later. Thanks for playing the remix.

@kevferris: "i'm guessing from your tracklist you would prefer the more deep, house-y drum n bass i guess?" I like some stuff like Roni Size - It's a Jazz Thing, i guess 'jazzstep' and oldschool goldie, but also listen to a lot of the newer dark stuff, black sun empire and the like. My good friend and partner-in-gigging plays a lot of drum and bass as well.

@d-miurge - my pleasure, great track. Thanks for listening.

I don't really have mixes with old skool jungle on it(jazz thing/goldie and so-on), i like it i just don't have any mixes with that style. I have loads of harder dnb maybe i'll upload one and let you know.

lol 3 of these tunes are in the live set from this past summer in my sig...

D/L!

Posted by nefardec on Jan-01-2007 09:15:

Haha, that's funny I think of those tracks as more wintry. Well, good tunes all year round in that case.

Hey bud, going to give this a listen today or tomorrow. Great pick with the Einmusik track, although I think they/he have never lived up to their Manhattan remix. I see you're a Cornell boy. You ever get out to Lynah?

Posted by nefardec on Jan-01-2007 21:04:

wasn't able to get tickets this year... :/

Nice tracks, good transitions, thanx for sharing

Yeah you guys sell that thing out, pretty unbelievable atmosphere. If you saw Brown last year you saw me playing at the mercy of you cut-throats.

Anyways, listened to this today and was impressed. Really liked what your idea with the intro, nut as far as production goes, I felt the levels were off. Definitely could've used more bass, but it really is very close to being a great set opener. The tone throughout was consistent and solid, you really had me going up until the Guido track where it started getting slightly glitchy, but then picked it right back up again.

I'd give you a more in depth review but I listened to it while out today. Thanks for the mix.

Thanks for your criticism as well as encouraging remarks. Agreed on "As Dry As I Can". I wanted to give the mix some conflict and resolution, but it is probably a bit much. I don't think I would ever try to pull something like that on the dancefloor

Re: Intro, it was a live mashup, I'll take that into consideration if I do it again.

Thanks for listening!

From the first listen I really enjoyed it. From what I could tell the transitions all seemed to be smooth and there's some great tracks in there!
