yep. This has anthem all over it. I bought his cd on transmat in detroit this past year.. One of my favorites in my collection.

this is rather interesting because it sounds fuckall like the deeper/detroit(ish) techno sounds like aril's produced in the past. it's a bit thin, soundwise, i think, but i don't know if it's the sample or if it's supposed to be like that. good shit eitherhow

After actually listening to the track, I have to admit I'm less than impressed. Like montana noted, it doesn't sound at all like the deep Detroit textures that made Brikha famous. If anything, it sounds like an average progressive trance tune from the late 90s. I want to hear the B-side before giving up hope on this one.

EP is out now on pre-release. Berghain is fucking awesome.

I'm with Cobalt on this one. Sounds rather dull, and definitely not something i'd expect to be released on a quality label like Kompakt.

from the 50/50 responses, sounds like it depends on the listener; I enjoyed it.

I enjoy the content, it sounds better than any trance release out(though i prefer his transmat releases). i can give a whoot if its on kompakt or so so label..

whoever said it was trance is a moron..

imho it's more along the lines of disco fused techno with a dabble of house thrown in there.

and its the number 1 selling tune on kompakt at the moment.

Nice trancer by Aril Brikha! Now if we could get more trance like this, it would be heaven all over again. Its good though that he doesn't care about the techno purists and does what he really wants...i remember in an interview once saying that he would like to take a more "trancier" approach in his music. So, it was true then...lol. "Bergain" is also nice. Sounds like a cross between Model 500, Maurizio and something more trancier.Which is great.


Anyway i find it more interesting then the previous basic chanel-like, detroitish stuff he was doing which were just cool but nothing great IMO. Now if he stays with this sound, i think he could create something really special...Time will tell.
