Why does everyone hate Sean Tyas?

I heard one remix of his. and it was pretty good. I keep hearing everyone bash him on these boards, but not explaining why.

One reason i heard is that he remixes anything and everything but really doesnt remix the song.. just adds a harder kick.

why do you guys hate him

People dont "hate" him per say. Its just that the scene has been jammed of his productions. Too many re-edits, reworks, remixes plus his own material. Also a lot of the tunes are garbage and have the same hard kick and synthy sounds. Lift is a great tune but is one in a catalogue of generic and boring productions that follow not only the same structure but also sound way too similar.

The last straw was him reworking Airwave which is just sacralidge

you think that was the LAST straw? He touched Insigma - Open our eyes. Granted the no piano one works, but it's in essence just a 'pvd rework' with kick/bass altered. He's butchered a host of classics & when we complain people have the nerve to bash us ourselves for being disgusted.

so in essence, u guys hate sean b/c labels come to him with a project and he completes it?
what do you think the reason is he has so many remixes out?? b/c his name is being picked out of a hat?

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Dec-23-2006 21:59:

Tyas is just one more guy who produces bog standard and boring productions and remixes / reworks. But he does it at a much faster rate than everybody else, it seems.

I like some of his productions and his track selection for mixes is great but mother****** needs to learn how to mix proper

firstly, there are a lot of labels who'll release anything they can. Secondly, the difference is that those tunes do not need remixes, and it is disrespectful to the original artists, and sometimes they've already been updated once, twice or whatever in a tasteful manner.

I don't care if he fucks with Airwave, that track sucked from the beginning. But you don't touch Open Our Eyes.

do you think a producer runs to a label with a remix of a track and says "realease this"?-- no they dont.. the label decided that the track, being successful in the past, would bring in some more money..
also, look at the labels he is doing remixes for.. they arent guys running a label out of a basement, so they sure arent going to release "anything"

since you seem to be so close to him, please offer him my condolances for that. And then tell him to stop ruining tracks. I don't give a fuck if they're "paying" him to do so or what, a producer should make a career out of original tracks & some good remixes, that haven't been remixed 2000 times already, and at a time when the sounds are being flogged to death. Tyas music is a cancer on an already dying genre, simple as.
