REVIEW: Yahel @ Fluid
Wow.
Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love (HOOOOLY SHIT remix)
Wow.
Holy fuck, Yahel absolutely ripped it. Wicked sick Psy Trance from start till finish.
I wasn't even ever planning on going, but I am sooo glad I went. It's not often that you get to hear such hard, quality Psy. I don't even know what to say. The whole room was just going off non-stop.
Thanks Sean for the $20 tix. Nice seeing m2j and SPANIARD. I'm slowly making my way through the list of all the people who i gotta catch up with who I haven't seen in months.
Liquid Love
I'm going to go die now.
Peace.
copy & paste FTW !!!

Yahel's set sucked!!! didnt enjoy it at all. no flow no energy and no transitions into the tracks. club sucked and so did the crowd. Yahel previous 2 times was 100% better. not happy one bit ... only good thing about the night and what made me stay at Fluid till 3:30 was the company of friends i was in. thnx for hanging around fellas. it had been too long. |
Ohh man. Psy Trance is like the true fucking Trance. Not that slow, proggy garbage Armin and the like churn out.

Well.. I'm leaving for NY in an hour so I didn't end up coming out to this but the Manson remix you're probably looking for is Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love (Dino Psaras Remix). Hopefully I'll get to see him for New Years Eve!
My night was realy messed up, i came to the club at like 11 and couldnt get in cuz my friend was way to drunk, had to sell tickets and all that bullshit. We had to drive all the way back to richmond hill to take him home, then come back to the club again. Basicly entered at 2:30... for free somehow, i love when that happens. lol.
All i gotta say is YAHEL WAS CRAP...
Mark S1 was WAY WAY WAY better...
I didnt get to hear that much of yahel, maybe an hour or so, but from wat i heard it wasnt very good. Dont get me wrong i was going nuts right up at the front but the set it self was lacking a few things such as direction and flow. And wat was with all the breakdowns fuck... too much. I expected psytrance... and i only got to hear it in the last 2 tracks. I thought he was starting to get good, but then he just left.
To my pleasent surprise mark S1 played an amazing prog house set. It was jus amazing. I only heard one problem with the mixing, otherwise it kept me jumping around right up till close.. totaly sober.
good night, but i expected ALOT more from Yahel... Im happy that Mark S1 saved the night for me.
ps. i actualy liked the venue. it has a zone feel to it
i feel like i need to stop listening to quality music at home, to realy be blown away by a set at a club
fuckin HORRIBLE NIGHT.
holy fuck, words cannot decribe how bad it was.
full report to come later on.

i bet if yahel was of different origin half the people in that party would have not been there.
one of the worst sets i have ever heard. one of the shitiest times i have ever had.
hey kinda reminds me of infected mushroom.
whatever dj was on before yahell fucking ripped it. he was good. although those damn guitar solo's kiled it. like a little ibt laright. but when your putting guitar solos into a track that already has that your just going over kill and ruining the track.
the crowed awful as always. i discovered one thing. jews cant dance. if the dj wasn't jewish i can gurantee the club would have been empty. i am not a violent person at all but seriously i was ready to start throwing punches.
well i think thats it for isreal producers for me. i'll never go see one again.

er i dindn't like it, Yahel's set sucked big time. i got there around 3 and stayed till the end, met some friends and almost loose my coat.
wat was up with the fight in the middle of the dance floor at like 3 am or something ???
Before anything I wanna say thank you to all the TA's who made it out to make the night better. Trancegrooves, m2j, Lexxwolfen, Smuncky, Hardcore Trancer, Cosmic Fur, Sean Cassisy, Souvalaki (sorry you had a horrible time man
), Cosmic Fur, Engine9... I think that about covers all the TA's I know, sorry I didn't meet you Eug.
My night can be summed up with mixed reactions....
The Music: 6.5/10 I had no real expectation of Yahel as a DJ since most of the sets he releases seem like self promotions of his productions. At first, I was loving his basslines and the energy in the room, it was a fresh change from the proggy, electro, chunky bassline house that was on before. It really had the crowd going, but as the night progressed, it was easy to realise that anything could have been played and this is how everyone would have reacted. As the set progressed, it was made clear that climaxes, energy changes etc had been thrown out the window, this was the same sound for the rest of the set. It really killed my energy as the previous DJ had done the same thing but it's kind of expected since it's an opening DJ. I came to the conlusion that Yahel maybe a great producer, but he definetly DJ's for extra income rather than true passion. His technical ability sucks and if he didn't play some awesome tracks which he produced, no one would know who he is. I thank you for those short spirts of great t00nage, but other than that never again Mr.Yahel.
Crowd: 0/10. Never seen such a bad crowd in my life. I'd rather be in a club full of the destiny jungle ravers, viva sketcheads and the guv 'norms' than be stuck in that room. It will take alot for me to go back to this venue, and a very good Israeli DJ for me to sacrifice being with these morons again.
In conclusion, I say that it's been a while since I heard some decent trance in Toronto so for those 6 or so tracks, I thank Yahel for doing something. I don't regret going to this, but I have definetly have experienced alot of things people have told me that I needed to see first hand.

Sorry to hear about the disappointing time.
Really glad that family and other Christmas holiday priorities kept me from checking out this party in Toronto.
