James Brown Is Dead

Just wanted to dedicate this thread to J. Brown now that the L.A. Style track title finally makes sense.

Rest in peace!

2. James Brown Is Dead [7" Version of Original Mix - With Rap]

Presumably the song title means the style of music that James Brown produced is dead instead of meaning the man himself is dead, but who knows! Apparently the producer went on to create The Venga Boys!! And yes, the cover of the original Belgium release really is that shit.

IT was two producers, michiel van der kuy and van diepen. Kuy had been producing since the early 80s italo disco and laserdance. Went into the house and euro with james brown is dead and even trance later on. Its a good production with both italo and house influences from both producers.

My second tape i bought in 1994 was some techno compilation. And there was some track titled as "Who the fuck is James Brown". Awesome track, besides.

And yeah, too sad to lose that kind of people.

It is
The hardest working man in show biz is alive
So yo, bust this
Dont be misled
'cause the newsman said
James Brown is dead"

I heard this on the radio the other day. It made me a bit unhappy.

But then, the man made his contribution, and he'll never be forgotten, and that's what counts. RIP, brotha (or can only black people say that?).
