Review : Boxing Day - 2006
This was the very first Boxing Day I experience for me ... I had no intention to buy anything, but my buddy needed some computer advise.
I got up at 930am and went to TigerDirect and nothing interesting at all. We booted to Canada Computers and it was pretty damn busy. They had this deal for 3.5 Western Digital IDE - HD 300 GB w/ External Casing for $99.99. Not bad at all, but once you open up the casing it turns out to be a Samsung HD. So I grabbed one and the line was pretty massive to cash out. Then we headed to Future Shop and thats went I saw the true behavior of Boxing Day. My God ppl were crazy, Chaos in the parking lot, pretty annoying to get in and park the car. Once we got in it was pretty fucked up. it was a angry mosh-pit in the Digital Camera dept. Ppl were raping the SD Cards they had this nice sale going on, 1GB Sandisk 19.99, 2GB Kingston 29.99 and 2gb Sandisk 34.99. There was some other stuff on sale, but not too great of a selection. Then we went to the infamous Walmart and it was massively fucked up. Got a spindle of Memorex DVD 16x for 17.99 and had to get of out there. The lines were crazy for cashing out and ppl who dont know how to use express / self served, shouldnt use it on this day. Three ppl caused so much drama in my line and I started to dissing them and rushing them. I know thats was pretty rude of me, but today was not a day for tutorial day.
What did you guys get and how was your experience today?

Those deals at Future Shop were online as well.
I didn't purchase anything today but anything I wanted to purchase I would have done online. They were still charging the same prices and would deliver them to you when back in stock.
I got some great stuff on boxing dale sales..eventhough nothing was on the actual day! haha
Bought a digital camera that was $200 off from Futureshop, Memory card that was $100 off...
Video game that was $50 off...
and I bought 2 pairs of True Religion jeans for $150US
I got some clothes at the GAP and they had really good deals!!!!
5 things for 57 dollars! woohoo! these one pair of pants were regular 79.5 and I got them for 13!!! woohoo! I also got some good deals at HMV, 40 year old virgin, ray, were only 5.99... i got the snow patrol CD for 7 dollars! then I got another DVD for 2.99! pretty wikkid! that's about it - basically boxing day sales last all week, it just the best deals and more selection are out today!

I ended up waking up early to shop at a mall close to my place...
It was pretty comfortable shopping at around 8 a.m., though the amount of people did increase exponentially between 10 to noon. So inevitably it did get crazy with the long line-ups to get into stores and to pay for stuff.
I ended up getting a couple of pretty tops, dress jackets and shoes. I didn't spend as much as last year (which is good I guess...haha).
I left the mall at around 4ish and was pretty exhausted but happy with the purchases.

Woooow you guys are are nerds.
Me and Engine9 woke up at 2pm, went shopping around 3pm. Went to Canada computers and scored a Logitech joystick for $5, a Logitech driving wheel for $10, a 320-CD wallet for $7, and a Samsung external DVD burner for $70. Then off to CompuSmart, but there was shit all there. Then we blazed, and walked to FutureShop. It was madness in there, and he walked away with 1.5 gigs of RAM for $100 or something. Then we went to EB Games tog et some games for our new peripherals, but there was suuuch a long line there that we said "fuck it" went into The source, impulse-bought a radio controlled plane for $40, and that was it. That's how you do boxing day - we got everything we wanted, with no gay lining up and no stress. Booya.
Also, we went to the Best Buy parking lot around 12am, and there were already people lined up there. So we blazed in front of them, laughed at them for a bit, then bounced.

I'm down in Chi-town with my family, they have sales down here, but don't have boxing day, apparently its a british/canadian thing. Went to best buy to return a phone.
The only reason why I write, given that I can't really review boxing day, is cause on the radio there was a great little segment. To paraphrase:
Broadcaster - For all you Canadians out there celebrating boxing day, this is for you:
Long monologue from Muhammed Ali.
Broadcaster - Not sure if that has anything to do with boxing day, but hope you liked it.
I still haven't figured out whether he was being funny or just dumb... but I liked it.
320 CD wallet for 7$ -- totally jealous.
lex
tried to go to the mall this morning but i think every 15 year old and all of their foreign cousins were there...peace'd out mighty quick.
this was the first year I decided to stay in and spend time with my family and not go out and shop.. lol..
i didnt buy anything. went to EB Games though, and Rogers Video and Wal-Mart and Cdn Tire.
Bought YOSHI'S LAND for my DS at Wal-Mart (5-10$ than everywhere else) and then 2 movies at Rogers for like 7$ that I wanted.
Then at 8pm, my bro and dad came home with massive new plasma/dsl/lcd tvs (whichever they were)
my dad's was a 37" for his 'office' in the basement, and my bros was like 27" or something i think
wow.
big influx of "extra" TVs into our house. maybe ill get one of the old ones now

I watched two women who (I assume) were in their 50's get into a fist fight in Best Buy over a digital camera today!!! Funniest thing I've seen all year!!! Doesn't the holidays bring out the best in people?
