Denon DNX-1500...Good or Bad?
I just came across a good deal on Denon's flagship mixer (used, in perfect condition with box and manual). As this will be my first mixer buy, I was wondering if anybody here had any real experience with their mixers and the quality. The other mixers I was looking at were the Pioneer DJM-400 and the Allen & Heath Xone-62. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
Thanx
xone 62 kicks ass
That's my mixer....ITS BADASS! small things: knobs are kinda small and the effects and sampler take a little time to get used to. otherwise, BADASS!
I had it before upgrading to a 3D, it was a badass mixer. Worth the money and time getting used to effects.
i just got one and i love it but i have never used another mixer around this range (i have only used shitty ones) so i dont know how much my opinion counts, but i say you should buy it
I currently own one, and for the price I think it is a wicked mixer, you can get very create with all its features and the Matrix system is truly awesome, apart from the buttons feeling rather cheap, my only real complaint is the digital cutoff, what this is, is that if a signal going into the mixer drops below a certain db, it actually cuts that channel completely, now for most people I don't think you would really notice this, but if you have quiet music coming threw it, or during some breakdowns, you can notice it cutting the sound in and out and it makes the music sound like an untuned radio, maybe this is just my mixer doing this as I have not heard anyone else say anything about it, but for me its truly annoying and has me looking at other mixers.
i never had that problem.
Thanx for the info people!!! Your input is greatly appreciated and I have decided I will buy the mixer...should be a good first piece of equipment!!! ...now for a couple of CDJ's...

its a nice mixer i liek the new "s" version of it, id probs take the xone 62 over it tho!
Ignore my past complaint about the digital cutoff, after having this problem for god knows how long, I decided to take a look at the system settings again (only been in them twice), was looking around and then I fuckin noticed it, the Noise Gate on the channels was turned on, THATS why it was cutting off, so turning it off, now the sound is perfect.
So excuse my n00bness about this, I think its time for afew drinks to get rid of my shame.
Now my only complaint really, is the cheap feeling of the buttons.
Great mixer for the price you pay, love mine
recommend it.
I guess the only other question I have is what is the difference between the 1500 and the 1500S?
1500 is black
1500s is silver
