Dunno CDJ-200 problem

ok so lately whenever I turn on one of my cdjs, I get the error message E-8301, which i think means the cd is dirty. Then Ill try to eject and it wont eject. So I have to force eject it, then I turn it back on and put in the same cd i got the error message with and it works fine.

Anyone else have this problem, What the hell is going on here? Do i just need to buy one of those laser cleaning cds or something? Or is this something I should contact pioneer about?

thats really wierd ive never had that....the pio's are solid as a rock. it doesnt look like youve tried putting in a different cd have you done that yet? also try using that same cd on your other cdj and see if its reading out the same error

the only thing ive reli seen go wrong on pioneers are these error messages, ur right its a message to do with a dirty disc. does it happen with all disc if not then thats ur problem, if so ur best contacting pioneer about the problem they are very helpful.

hopefully they will be able to reconmend the best corse of action.

I would try one of those cleaning discs with a brush on a back of it, like you mentioned. It worked on my car cd player.

I belive its not a good idea to use the cleaning CD's on your CDJ's if its the CDJ's problem.

Doesnt it say in the manual not to?

No, definately don't put a cleaning CD in.

yeah i can see a cd lens cleaner doing more damage that good. and im pretty sure ive read in a manual before that u shouldn't use them too.

liek i said before, the best thing to do is just contact pioneer and see wot they say, they will recommend you the best way to fix the problem.

It does it with all cds. i thought it was just an old cd at first but i tried it with a brand new, perfectly clean cd and it still did it. And my other 200 works just fine with all my cds. I guess Ill get a hold of pioneer to see whats up.

im having terrible problems with the e8301 error on one of my cdjs, the guy change the cd function and it still does it. Cost me like 150 dollars, and now he is getting the firmware update from the company, and is gonna try that. Basically ive had the same e8301 error with one cdj for the past 3 months. Pretty annoying shit, and the guy at the shop talks about how he barely ever sees the model cuz everyone talks about how good it is.

let me know how that works out for you, it sounds like were going through the same thing. do you have to force eject the cd too?

wot model of cdj u got? if its a 800 or 100 u can update it urself! dont pay su1 for doin a simple task like that!

if its cdj 200 theres is no avaliable update and if u do manange to get one send it my way!

even tho there are cdj200 floating about with different firmware theres been no official release of it or no update file released!

but the 800 or 1000 there is no reason why u can do this urself.
