Allied Nations - La Recoleta - Dec 28 2006

Had a good time putting this together
I named it after the area of Buenos Aires I've been staying in for the last week. It's a gorgeous city that I've been having an absolute blast in and I think this mix reflects the positive energy I've been feeling here! The photo is of a sculpture here, it had been one of my favorites for a long time and I had no idea it was in Buenos Aires until I saw it here! Definetely made my day.
Enjoy!

OMG, I was just in the COR and saw your flower sculpture in La Recoleta. I was just there last month. I missed Creamfields by just one week. I was sent there on business to train a new staff member (I work at HP). I drove by that flower every day there.
No matter how much I tried making my own Milanesas at home, it's just not the same as in BA. It was so cheap staying there. Everything was so affordable. Say hi to the bong dealer in the market by the cemetary on Saturday. He makes awesome one-of-a-kind hand made bongs. I brought one back to Toronto no problem. Just separate it in half and put each half in a different suicase. I digress. The women are very sexy there, even in the office. I got kissed by every girl in the office everyday twice a day, where in Canada i'd be busted for sexual harassment.
Have a good time dude, and thanks for the set.

Awesome! Looking forward to listening to this
ok i just started listening, and i just want to say...i've noticed that you like to start your mixes with "bleepy synth" type tracks, lol.
Alrighty, just got done listening. Unfortunately I had to stop it several times due to work-related duties, but I got through the whole thing.
It started out not much grabbing my attention. I went into it thinking "this set isn't really going to be my style", but it quickly picked up. A good majority of the set had a "Commodore 64 SID-chip" vibe to it, so I really dug that.
I liked the gritty saw basslines. I also liked how "dirty and chunky" the set got towards the end.
The ending track was perfect IMO. I liked the use of vocals in the song that's playing at 15:00. And whichever track is playing during 52:00 is incredible.
Did you notice there's a good minute or two of silence at the end of the set? Or did I miss something by skipping through it?
Great job building energy throughout the set, I really enjoyed it. Excellent mixing. Nice vibe. Great job! I'll be holding on to this one.

yoink! gonna give this a whirl... the only track i recognize is K10 because im a newb
killer track
whoa! completely different style from you than I would have suspected... like usual.
it almost even approaches left field in its techy-ness, sorta idm'ish. unfortunately, it's just not my bag. i did however love the transition from Terry Lee into track 4, that repeated vocal bit was sharp! some elements of #4 made me think of VNV Nation, very melancholy. That was the only track that really jumped out at me, as well as old Keoki of course. Pleasant surprise!
I think I take back the comment I made in my Terry Lee, about how it's not the artists job to evolve sounds for the listeners, but rather ours to genre hop when desired. You're proving me wrong. Damn chameleons
