Is it me...
...or is "extended set" the new buzz word in toronto (maybe even the world). seems like everybody is spinning "extended" sets when all they are, are regular 3-4 hour sets, which hardly classifies as extended. in my opinion, to label a set as an "extended set", a DJ should be spinning AT LEAST 7 hours. Unless you're Paul Oakenfold. For him 3 hours would be extended.
discuss.
..or finish at some ridiculous time of the afternoon a la C&C or Tenaglia.
I think extended is legit if it is longer than what they would normally play.

3-4 hours in not an extended set, ffs! that should be the norm
extended to me should be 6+ hours.
i'll agree that a set over 5hrs is an "extended set" 4 hours is expected for a headliner unless it's a event with liek 10 dj's and one room

Perhaps it's just a clever way for bad DJs to pump themselves up....like guys with small dicks who have to work out or drive expensive cars to compensate.

as of past year or so the norm has become 3 hours for a regular set. in my opinion anything over 5 hours can be labeled as an extended set. what Danny T or C & C do is extra extended lolz.
Ferry at LoL 06 is a prime example of what an " extended " set should be.
its a way of attracting the crowd for clubs and promoters. purely money related.

3 hours is a standard headlining slot at most clubs that go after hours. Extended, to me, is 4+ hours.
Tiesto's last party @ the Docks was labelled Extended Set...
and it was only 4.5 hours long
I would have to say 6 or more is extended. I agree on the 3-4 basically being the norm. Not many DJs that come to Toronto play a one hour set

4+ is reasonable.
