Denon 3500 problems?

Does anyone on here own the denon 3500? have you been having problems with them? ive been reading about alot of problems on the forum with the deck even after the update

Pioneer.

Cannot understand why anyone would buy one over a Pioneer.

Just like i could never understand why anyone would buy Newmarks or Vestax over Technics. It makes no sense!

it's around the same price as a cdj-800 and has better pitch accuracy and loads of other features that the pioneer doesn't have (dunno if any of them are really useful though as i haven't played with one). it doesn't mean it's crap because it's not pioneer. i dunno if it is crap or not though. but if it's not and i could be sure of that i'd be buying two of them ******s (i just can't justify the price for the cdj-1000's and i can't get over the 0,5 pitch accuracy on the 800's). also i don't really want to upgrade to the cdj-200's just because they have better pitch accuracy than my cdj-100s' have, because other than that and the looks they're pretty much the same.
so what i'm saying is that i can understand why someone would be interested in these, because i kinda am. still i haven't bought them because i really have no idea if they'll be any good and i don't feel like risking it.

there are plenty of turntables just as good as technics now and you dont get ripped of for owning one.

The fact of the matter is that all those of us that use the Pio gear are going to be using it a long time after your Denon's have bitten the bullet.

Fact: Pioneer gear is built better.

You see so many more fault Denon posts than you do Pioneer. I wonder why that could be?

I don't expect anyone with a Denon to agree, the reason I post this is because before I made a decision to purchase my gear I read about what was good and what was bad. I learnt that Pioneer hands down kicks the crap out of everything else. I spent a good 3 months before a decision was made.

Hopefully someone else looking to make a decision may stumble across this post and read my input and make the same, well informed decision that I made.

Anyone who's mixed using a 1200/1210 known that nothing else feels as 'right' as they do. You cannot get a better deck. Thats a matter of opinion, but it's a matter of opinion held by a majority of people.

While I don't deny that Pioneer CDJs are the industry standard and an absolute joy to use (I'd go and buy a pair of CDJ1000s at the drop of a hat if I wasn't a poor student), I'd just like to point out that there are two (three if you count one about the DJM500) Pioneer fault threads on the front page of this forum alone, compared to one about Denon kit

Well I wasn't talking about this page, lest we forget. I searched a little further and wider that the first page of the DJ Forum.

Consider also, if you will, the fact that there are are, according to the three sales people, from three different retailers, I spoke with when obtaining prices, that they shift in the region of 5 times the amount of Pioneer gear than they do Denon.

So it's all relative, and if my statistics are to be believed, your 3 to 1 observation means that indeed Denon do have a poorer record than Pioneer.

The dudes at my DJ store, I rang up more than once and had a few question. Different guys all had the same response to when i asked about the reliability of players that rely on the "build" or basic construction similiar to the American Audio CDi500 which relies on A tray CD loadout (this build is shared by many Table top CD players out there like numarks Axis etc.) they said that they got less returns on them than on the pios.

I dunno how muhc of this stuff is reliable becaue salespeople are out there to make commision. Their commision on the goods is based on profits that they make from each equipment. IF they make more profits off the pios (let's face it, they're very expensive), then selling them makes the store more profit, and means they keep their jobs and get more money.

Just because you are buying something that is way expensive doesnt mean that the store is making a ton of profit. I work at a computer store and we actually make less money on the more expensive items than we do on the cheaper things. If sell a computer for $1100 only about $50 or so of that is profit.

That's a good point. I mean fast food stores like KFC for example make more money selling chips and drinks than burgers.

well someone here told me that the denon is selling better probably cause i was actually interested in the denon, just like them guys were probably after your cash so dont rely on what some sales person has said to you.

Pio gear is in such high demand currently in the UK that there is a waiting list for the higher end equipment. What does that tell you?

Try any buy a CDJ1000 and see what happens. Me and Penfold99 were waiting 5 weeks and 3 weeks respectively for ours - from two differnt main dealers. It was the same across the country.....

that could mean anything really i would prefer to see sales figures for both products i dont doubt that pioneer does sell better but not by as much as you try to make out.

It says there are less Hip Hop DJs in the UK.

Denon has a huge following from Hip Hop DJs based upon their 5000 & 3500 models in the States.

Not a Hip Hop DJ myself, but the majority of Hip Hop DJs only buy Denon.

I own a set of Denon DNS5000's and let me tell you baby that they can shit on any Pioneer around. In terms of durability I feel Denon has the edge. I hear Dj complain all the time that their pio's are taking a dump and they are quite new.

I have used both Pio 1000 mk3 and Denon 5000 and it really just comes down to a matter of preference. If you like pitch bending with buttons then Denon if with wheel then Pioneer.

Pioneer buttons seem less durable amd more flimsy. The Denon feels more solid like a cadillac. I like the .5 on the Pio's but the Denons give you 4% and 10%, what else do you need?

As far as Industry standard of course Pio especially in the US but that dosent mean shit.

that's what the salesman at my local store said. Pios weren't the highest selling CDJs, and they had a greater rate of return and repair than other CDJs they stocked
