It was a good Slawlering, and he delivered his typical twisted style party tunes.

Overall, not to sound negative as I don't, he wasn't overtly impressing me with new cutting edge tunes. Maybe its because I listen to him the most.

Always more pumped now to see friends though.

So did he close his set with the track? , cause he did so in montreal.

The crowd were going way more nuts to this in montreal though. It was pure madness.

I miss montreal now

I had a fabulous time last night.

Great friends, and amazing tunes. Lawler left me impressed, and im very glad I finally got to cross him of my list of DJ's I need to see. Ive been told that he is almost always on, and boy was he ever last night.

My tune of the night was "Silence" which im almost positive was the Trentemoller remix. Sick, sick, sick.

Why do idiots fight in clubs? so annoying- get over yourself. Booth party bedlam, left me scared shitless trying to get out of the way.

A lovely way to ring in the new year! thank you friends xo

Steve killed it in LA on sat night. He played some old tracks like chiapette(nic fanculi).. I got to say the best tecnically sound dj in the world, tight as hell. I wish I were home for that. Did Sean Miller play as well??
Happy New Years,
BTW ...Sonic is still going, just got off the phone with Carey, Chus &Ceballos, Hector and Nevio are going back to back to back.

uhh, did you forget that steve lawler was playing at This Is London and not Sonic?

Posted by Special K on Jan-02-2007 19:13:

ok

one of the craziest weekends for me EVER!

today + yesterday / last night was *shambles*

but it was all very worth it!

and yea back to the music, i thought steve played a cool set last night. it wasnt on the same level (for me) as the circus set earlier that morning which was just completely fucking insane! i dont even know how to describe the music he was playing, it was like this angry techy driving electro sound with the most retarded mindbending basslines. a ridicoulously good set with tonnes of holy shit wtf is this / next level type shit / i am being schooled like a bitch type moments! i was hoping he would replicate that @ TiL but it wasnt on the same level. but he still played some really cool stuff and he played quite a few tunes that I didnt hear in Montreal (ie. silence, house in play, do ya dub etc)

Posted by sirbutterfly on Jan-02-2007 19:17:

I know where steve was playing, I was wondering if Sean played with him...
Those two together are amazing!!
I gather he didn't by your response...
Unfortunate that Toronto club promoters keep on dropping the ball. Funny how Sean has toured with Steve for the last 2years, and they have never played together .. What a joke!!!
I wonder when we will ever get the chance to hear Steve at Sonic on that system .. Oh well!!

I had a great time of it.

Definitely a better set than the one from Skybar back in June 2006. But still nothing beats the Skybar set in 2005.

I'm off to Detroit soon - and then Colorado the day after. I will post pics and vids when I reach home in Colorado. I got some sweet video of tracks throughout his set. Wicked pics too!

It was great to see all the TOTAs out (and non-TAs). You guys made my weekend a fackin' blast and a half. See you in May for Freedom Weekend!

Posted by exstasie on Jan-02-2007 21:49:

hmmm...i thought i had more videos...and i thought they were longer...

Nathan Barato's warm up was off the hook, he set shit up perfectly for Lawler.. was nice meeting him at the end as well.

Lawler was AMAZING last night.. I agree with K though, his set at Circus in MTL was a bit better, due to him droppin some total mindfuck, driving electro-tribalish madness he is known for.. Yesterday he was definately much more techier, but still ripped the bitch up..

The crowd was also amazing last night, which made the night for me, and Lawler looked like he was havin a good time as well.. Can't wait 'till he comes back!

Highlights of the night: Lawler droppin' monday (which the place went fucking nuts to), the remix of silence, mouth 2 mouth, insomnia, hugs n kisses (which never seems to get old from him ), and a bunch of others..

They definately gotta fix the sound in This Is London, it'd make the place so much better imo.
