New Year Resolutions

Come on, I know all of you guys have something you want to accomplish in 2007... What is it?

Mine...

1.- The obvious, manage my money better, and stop foolish spending.

2.- 2006 was my best year to date for gigs. I was practically booked every weekend, sometimes 3-4 times a week. One time, I played from Wednesday to Saturday, with 3 gigs on a Saturday. That was a total of 6 gigs in 4 days. Very exhausting. Well, 2007, I want to accomplish the same, only this time, I want to get better gigs, better quality, and better pay.

3.- Start Producing. That's my NEXT GOAL! I already make my own edits, but now it's time to make my own music.

4.- Get On The Radio... There's two radio stations in LA I want to get into this year... 102.7 KIIS FM and 107.1 SUPER ESTRELLA.

5.- Play at Avalon's main room.

6.- Play at Vanguard's main room. Hehehe I Think this might happen before the Avalon thing. The Spanish Rock promoters I work for, are the Spanish Rock version of GIANT. They do all the big events, including CONCERTS and SPECIAL EVENTS at Vanguard, Queen Mary, and LA SPORTS ARENA.

And then off course, there's the stuff everyone wants... NEW CAR, NEW HOUSE, Stable Girlfriend, loose weight, blah blah blah...

for me, gain a little weight... there's a couple xxl shirts that i'ld like to fit into again.

stop smoking cigs...and get into the shape i was 2 yrs ago : ). The usual stuff. Oh, and something i've been working on my whole life..not being shy and making new friends.

best of luck!!

I don't know its just how I am, but I always felt new years resolutions were in some manner a way of putting things off; overall they are usually things you can start executing in the now.

1. Make tracks.
2. Make good tracks

I hear you. I don't look at them as resolutions, I look at them as GOALS! I live my life by setting goals to my self, and I'm usually pretty good about keeping up with my goals. I hope I accomplish my top goals this year.

Ya, same here. Yes, I could do all these things now, but I like to have goals and a sense of achievement each year. I think it makes an easier task to accomplish by setting dates. If you have a date then it's more difficult to put off. It also makes it more difficult to not accomplish your resolutions, because for me at least, I don't want to feel like a failure for the rest of the year, so I will put a lot more energy into meeting my goal.

Don't give up! I have those moments where I don't even want to try because I'm afraid it will suck or that it will be too frustrating. Then I just think about making one track, one track that other people would be willing to play. Imagine that

Oh goals are great and I agree =)

as my previous reply says "new years resolutions" in general.

it wasn't exactly directed towards TA, probably because over the past few days friends and co workers have been telling me about their NY resolutions and its always around this time I hear these things.

but in relation you can come up with these goals at anytime, that's what I meant by in the now and then start executing them in real time.

I guess what I'm saying is you can always set your goals as if it felt like new years everyday

At the same time I celebrate several new year's every year anyhow, so in that sense the common calendar most people use is just a tool for me to keep a record of things.

As for goals one of many I have to to "explore" China and South America, once I do that I would have explored every country/continent I've ever really wanted to in my life. I already have Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand crossed off my list.

Actually I've only been to Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan so I have much more to see there. I still need to visit Southern Japan and Hokkaido.

Put it up on TA so that everyone that has never even tried production can rip it to shreds and make you feel like shit.

You put these last two resolutions in perfect order LOL, that's a double negative! Drinking more and more hard liquor in step 3 will lead to step 4.
