Boise State v Oklahoma= Best Game Ever??
Name your Top 3 Best Ending Games
1) Derek Fisher v Spurs .4 Second Shot
2) Boise State v Oklahoma
3) Kobe Bryant v Phoenix Suns Game 6
1.) 2001 AFC playoff - Raiders at Pats - Vinatieri FG's to tie, then WIN in the snow... last game ever at Foxboro, FIRST playoff start for Brady, and WIN!
2.) Super Bowl XXXVI - Brady's march down the field to set-up the 48 yd FG by Vinatieri FTW!
3.) I'll say music city miracle... because everyone would jump down my throats if I put the Pats in all 3.... so there...
there are many awesome endgame finishes i have seen in my lifetime. my top 3 in no particular order (and i chose these 3, because they affected the outcome of how the series was changed or a heavy underdog winning at the last second):
1. Robert Horry's 3 against the Kings in Game 4 of the 2002 NBA Playoffs . i mention this game as the top, because i was in total shock over the course of events that happened before horry's 3. the ball just landed perfectly in this hands, and he did his job. if he had missed that shot, the kings would have went up 3 games to 1, and we probably wouldn't be talking about the kobe-shaq mini dynasty of the early 21st century.
2. Reggie Miller scores 8 points in 11 seconds in Game 1 of the 1995 NBA Playoffs against the New York Knicks. The series of events he put out was unbelieveable. This was the staple that put together the indiana-new york rivalry of the early 1990s. great games.
3. Frank Reich leading the Buffalo Bills past the Houston Oilers in a come from behind victory during the 1993 AFC Playoffs. no one would have thunk this guy would lead the bills past the oilers, after being behind 35-3 early in the 3rd quarter. he was a backup who rarely saw any playing time, due to jim kelly's success. he leads them full force the rest of the game, and wins it in overtime 41-38.
my top games in no order:
1. Spurs Mavericks Game 7 2006 NBA Playoffs (Sorry kap) - Easily the best basketball game from the college, NBA or International level I have ever seen.
2. Monday Night Miracle: Jets-Dolphins 2000 (Sorry eddie :P) - Dolphins Up 30-7 going into the 4th quarter, Testaverde throws for 4 TDs in the 4th quarter, Jets win in OT 40-37
3. Flyers-Penguins 2000 NHL Season Game 4 - the game that went to 5 OTs before Keith Primeau scored the winning goal at 4 AM
4. Italy-Germany 2006 World Cup - Grosso and Del Piero saved yet another World Cup game from going to penalty kicks at the last second
5. Dodgers-Padres 2006 Season with the back to back to back to back HRs to tie the game, then Nomar hit the game winning HR in extra innings after San Diego takes the lead
6. Boise State - Oklahoma 2006 Fiesta Bowl: Most entertaining american football game I've ever seen. Hook and lateral?!?! THE STATUE OF LIBERTY!?!?!?
hard to pick 3, but some more nominees:
Marek Malik's game-winning trick shot goal last year in the 15th round of the shootout between the Rangers and Capitals
1986 World Series Game 6 - it gets through Buckner!
Kirk Gibson in 1988 World Series Game 1 - I don't believe what I just saw!
Probably one of the best back-to-back pair of finishes was 2001 World Series Games 4 & 5 between Yankees and Diamondbacks. Add to that how it all ended in Game 7
Christian Laettner's buzzer-beater in Duke vs. Kentucky, I believe in 1993
although a different format from most of the contests mentioned here - Greg Lemond winning the 1989 Tour de France by 8 seconds, making up a 50-second deficit on the final stage (time trial into Paris)

1. Rams over the Titans, Super Bowl 2000. The 77 yard TD bomb to Isaac Bruce followed by Steve McNair shaking off a sack on 4th and 20. Then...this:
2. I'd say Michael Jordan's shot against the Jazz against Byron Russell. His stellar career should have ended there.
3. All of the Robert Horry shots. So many should be rolled into one.
4. Kirk Gibsons HR, remember watching it live. 2001 World Series games 4,5,7 (generally considered one of the most entertaining series ever).
robert horry fo sho...that guy WAS clutch!
game that derek fisher's game winning shot > all of big shot bob's game winning shot
duncan with that ridiculous shot off his back foot
then derek fisher's shot
and then Shaq's quote after the game "One lucky shot deserves another"
1. 2002 college football national championship game. Double overtime win by Ohio State after a goal line stand after 1st and goal by Miami.
2. 2000 "Music City Miracle." I don't think I need to recap this one.
3. 2004 ALCS Game 7. Red Sox came back from going down 3 games to none, winning the last four games to head to the world series. Derek Lowe pitches a one-hitter.

i think that rutgers football game was amazing!
1. 2005 NCAA Midwest Regional Final; Illinois (1) beats Arizona (9) 90-89 in OT
Illinois was down by 15 points with 4:00 left in the second half, then went on a 20-5 run where they missed nary a basket, nailed a couple of key threes, and applied the fiercest full court press I've ever seen. Arizona was still playing well, but Illinois was out of this world. With 45 seconds left, Arizona was inbounding the ball still up by 3. The pass was deflected, quickly kicked out to Deron Williams who nailed the three-pointed, and Illinois rode the momentum. With 10 seconds left, Arizona had a chance to win, got an open look, missed, got the rebound, and All-American Salim Stoudamire had his shot blocked. Illinois was just one step ahead in OT and won when Arizona missed another open shot. As an Illinois fan, my jaw was permanently down the last 2 minutes + OT.

2. 2007 Fiesta Bowl; Boise State 43, Oklahoma 42
4th and 18 Hook-n-Ladder? ARE YOU SERIOUS? For anyone who has played football, this game was simply unbelievable.

3. 1991 World Series, Game 6. Minnesota 4, Atlanta 3.
In the eleventh inning, after four pitches, Kirby Puckett belted a homerun to deep center field to keep the Twinkies in a Series no one believed they deserved to be in. Called the greatest World Series in baseball history by ESPN, the series ended in Game 7 after 10 scoreless innings of pitching by Jack Morris, which, when you think about it, is pretty unbelievable.

4. Music City Miracle; Tennessee Titans 22, Buffalo Bills 16
The lateral from Wycheck to Dyson may or may not have been backward, but it was still pretty amazing.

5. May 7, 1989 -- "The Shot" -- Chicago Bulls 101, Cleveland Cavs 100
Jordan goes right, gets stopped, goes left, elevates, stays up IMPOSSIBLY long, and drains a fifteen footer. Then he practically hurdles a Cav while pumping his fist in celebration.
