I would like to rephrase...I am not paying that much $ to hear dj's spin for 1.5 hours

Posted by Clublifexx on Jan-03-2007 04:40:

Blaaaaaaaaa

These damn destiny raves are killing our chances to see some good DJ's.
K vs A play great live sets, been looking forward to seeing them here for a while.
But why a damn destiny rave?

But does anyone know why adam sheridan doesn't come to Toronto???

Because he played a 1 hour set last year at 5am, at this very event, for a screaming audience of about 20 people. 15 of which were about 15 years old.

Good to be able to see these guys for about an hour, it will be the last of them for a while.
Hell, if guv books an ultra spin probably won't even get to see them. At least there the Dj will be on for 2 hrs or so....

He's been pretty quiet last yr or so. Nothing flashy in terms of productions.

uhh what's the big deal about seeing young people partying? were you not a young once or were you always some old crusty ******?

you're lucky we're able to see them for one hour then not at all.

this isn't how many djs are in the main room, is it? that would suck, making the set times so short.

i hope they're truthful in this statement, and we're not going to get wimpy mainroom bass like has been happening since all the islander issues.

No, only Johan, KvA & 1 local are scheduled for the main room. Both Headliners will have at least 1.5 hour set lengths each. Trance will start in the main room around 1:30 - 2am.

no J00F....

*tear*

Posted by darouge11 on Jan-03-2007 18:56:

keep dnb out of the main room...

Posted by _EuG_ on Jan-03-2007 20:09:

why cant a headliner get a nice 4 -5 hour set

Posted by Clublifexx on Jan-03-2007 20:14:

In general, that is the number they stuff into one room. Short sets, nobody left by 4am when they tend to schedule the main dj's.

As for the moran who quoted me: learn to interpret the english language, or at least go to some of these parties on your own to understand why it gives a bad impression to the dj's.
Never said I had a problem with younger people partying, just from my experience destiny raves have extremely underage people who do not represent the city well and clear out before the headliners even come on. They have literally caused a couple dj's I contact to not schedule returns to Toronto.

As well, you get NOTHING from 1.5 hours of music, you don't get to hear what the DJ is all about.

For Temporal: You guys do get some great talent, it's just a shame the setup is the way it is. Longer sets and a different target crowd would really help

Posted by sufee_b on Jan-03-2007 20:17:

if they got only one or two Djs to play 3-4 hours each in the mainroom, all you would hear is "boo hoo hooo, theres only 1 or 2 djs coming and i hate em both boo hoo hooo, i'm off to see manzone and strong for the 43rd time for some 'and i dont want to party all the time, party all the time, party all the tiiime' and for some 'tell me whhhyyyyyyyy'"
