Invisible Grin Lilith's EBM-Darkwave mix

Probably not the right site for this, but seeing as it's electronic I figured it would be of some interest to a couple of people, that and my current knowledge of trance is pretty awful with most of my collection being 5-10years old and one wants to listen to that anymore

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

80meg running time of 1:07

Will - Summoning (Lilith remix)
Aphex Twin - Headphelym
Black Lung - Sinister Control Minority
Snog - The future
VNV Nation - Honour (Juno Reactor Remix)
Covenant - Tabula Rasa (Club Version)
Clan of Xymox - Anguish (Front 242 remix)
Covenant - Tears like rain
Electronaut - VNV Nation
Zeromancer - Something for the Pain (Apoptygma Remix)
Snog - Hunter
Front 242 - Religion (Prodigy Trance mix)
Fear Factory - Martyr (Suffer Bastard mix)

Not a lot there for your average trance fan, unless youre into hard-edge/ambient sort of stuff and youre probably not going to get a real room-rave out of it
It's fairly dark, ambient and moody for the most part until the end where at about 1am last night I decided to throw some just plain mean and nasty stuff which should piss the neighbours off, frighten small children and annoy old people. (also the 3rd time behind a mixer for me so don't expect too much...)
Sorry about no direct link (but it works!)

Very nice!

Some of those tracks aren't my cup of tea, but I do appreciate the originality. I wish more DJs around here did stuff like this.

love the look of the tracklist here .

WIll give feedback soon.

Good stuff Lilith, thoroughly enjoyed it, except for that one track with the Marilyn Manson type vocals dude .

Posted by Rainborn on Jan-05-2007 01:51:

Judging by the tracklist, this should be really cool. Grabbing it now, thanks!

I have to admit, I dont own any MM albums and my knowledge of his stuff is sketchy at best. Over 80% of this tracklist dates around 1993-97 I grew up in so I'd say it was a case of him borrowing stuff from the earlier industrial and EBM scene (Not to be confused with EDM, if you wanted something to dance too this probably isnt it! )
It's also mixed on live-mode, so if its a little rough on the transpositions uhh well I'll sort this software out eventually with a bit more practice.
Thanks for listening anyway

I didn't really notice any rough transitions there really, although I must admit I was doing other things while listening to it. But it was certainly a pleasure to listen to from start to finish, and something that's not dance music is a nice change. I'd say your mixing skills are rather impressive for someone with not much experience, good job .

I only made it about 30 seconds in... it didn't align with my own tastes... so I'm only posting for Purely Symbolic reasons...

Read This!

This is a def. far cry from what I normally listen to but the darkness of it overall makes me feel..........

.......homely. Me loves it! Keep up the great work!

Nice tracklist. Good mix. Keep up the good work!

good mix, the lack of actual mixing at certain spots was justified with the great trackselection. good shit

Rust on PVC [Industrial Club Mix]

Industrial club days re-revisited from my 'youth'
This is probably far more accessible than the last one, it's 'dancy' and in some spots 'cheesy' too, but fun, by no means a cross section of the 'Industrial' genre at all.
That would take forever to compile, this is mearly a mix of what was popular to dance to and the Skinny Puppy song will undoubtably draw some comparisons with that Manson guy, but they where well over a decade making records before he slopped out of high school (1988 release)
The mixer or my HDD (or both!) had 'problems' towards the last half, hasnt effected the quality of it at all but it fairly much denied any use of the equalisers, which kind of sucked as I was mixing it live...

If you love trance and don't like anything else you'll probably really hate it

Actually it's KDE (Linux), but I customized it to my preference, inspired largely by OSX (Apple) . I'll have a more on-topic post once I listent to the set though .

Posted by Sushipunk on Jan-14-2007 04:10:

This looks fuckin trippy, I'll have a listen

Posted by shaolin_Z on Jan-16-2007 11:02:

You've got some pretty good tunes in there, but some others a little to dark for my taste. And that Marilyn Mason "soundalike" is back I see. Nice flow, good track selection (with a few exception). Too many vocals for my likeing, but that's just a personal preference of mine . Keep it up girl .

I might see if I can come up with an ambient electronic mix then sometime around the weekend but it'll need a bit of time to compile and pick through some Soma, Black Lung, old dirty psy-trance and Neubatin albums.
This is about as fun and fluffy as you'll probably get from me though

Even though you hate House(ish stuff), at least you don't like cheese .
