the best mice are from logitech. if you dont want to spend a lot, get a MX510 or a MX518. The comfort is great and u get all the buttons that you need.
btw, dont get wireless mice.
^ ya, logitech all the way. i've had the mx300 for the past 2 years. simple, comfy, cheap and no problems.
Based on your needs you described... don't get a mouse that still uses a ball, and get one with at least 4 buttons to make web browsing so much easier and faster.

my mouse used to move around like that a lot..then i changed the mouse pad and its all good now

thanks for the suggestions...i ended up getting the microsoft lasermouse6000. seems to be pretty good so far!
i dont' understand why such a faulty technology is so popular...at least with a wire, i won't have that stupid random flying around the screen occurances.
i have a logitech dual laser mouse...not cordless...ive had it for about 2-3 years now, its great

- the scrollie can also be clicked left and right
- comes with built in program to play music/videos/slideshows without touching your computer ( you can navigate through your files)
- SO DAMN COMFORTABLE and also compact!!!
this mouse is soooooooooooooo perfect.... ive alawys wanted something like this... the best part is that you can hold it like a remote control and it functions exactly like one!
