My new website!

I been working on this for some time now and got it ready last night, so i thought i would see what you think!

Automatic music player.

overall design neat if a bit uninspiring. does what it needs to without being too fancy, maybe just needs a bit of something to make it look great. Agree with mike on the music, it's a no-go as far as many people think, give them the chance to hear it yeah, but give the option of it at the start, cos it can be annoying, esp if we're recording something

It works fine on the links page, just the ones on the front page you gotta fix.

Same's the case with most profiles on Myspace. Very annoying.

why do people use templates when It's really not that hard to design your own? As long as you've got a method of producing graphics for the background etc it's really not very hard to get a decent website up.

Uhm.. i have designed every bit on this website my self. The only thing that i havent done my self is some scripts for some functions like guestbook and mp3 player. Though i have designed those to, but not coded the funtions.

Ok guys! This should be it. Ive made some changes in the script! As some may have experienced , that the tanparent PNG background images didnt show proper in IE 6 or lower. But it should be fixed now!

On the otherhand, heres some advice from a design student:

1. Make it look less like an application, it's a website after all
2. If you have to use images for the buttons make the text a bit more legible, lower case is always more legible than uppercase, and using real text would be better if you can.
3. I think the funny corners make it look like shareware (see point 1).
4. Learn how to use CSS rather than tables, yes maybe tables are easier from your point of view, but CSS is so much better. Check out w3c for tutorials etc
5. I like the colours, and I also like the way the background is in more subdued versions, but I think the background needs to be simpler, and the funny grey borders are a bit odd.
6. In your news section your using white text on a light grey background, you should increase the contrast, maybe dark writing instead.
7. As funky as your ident is, I count it four times on your homepage which is overkill.
8. I don't want to sound protentious, but there is a simple rule in design: perfection is when there is nothing left to take away. If something is there and can be taken away, it should: simpler is always better.

I really like the design - I think the layout is pretty simple and it's easy to navigate.

The music autoplay is fine, in my opinion - if people don't like it, the controls for the player are pretty central on the page, so it's easy to locate the stop button (easier than most other sites with a similar apparatus).

The only critique I really have is that the colour scheme looks kind of gross. It doesn't look terrible or anything, I just really don't like pink and blue. I like that you didn't go with something boring like black and more black, but I would maybe try tweaking the colours a bit to see if you can find something else more interesting...maybe it's just me though. Colours are really hard to work with sometimes though...

@Pheobius: Yea i wish i knew how to code CSS in good way, but im learning. I have made some minor graphic changes, and i think it looks better now, maybe not for all tastes, but i like it. I also set the counter to reset every 24 hours for unique visitors (it was at 30 min) :P.However, i appriciate you tips, though i cant change everything, due to my limited skills! :P

@Marc Summers: Yes there is only one Track there, cus i have only relesed one track so far (nOOb) but i have more releases coming up later this year, so there will be more tracks in the player!
