I didn't take my camera to Darude. But oh boy do I regret it!!!
Simple fact is that since I don't get out much these days, I just want to be able to fully enjoy myself and not worry about having to continuously check on the camera to make sure it's OK.
I wish I had a better smaller camera. Could just take it anywhere then.
As for the PvD pics, I put up a few then the computer (Michelle's computer) they were stored on died in October...believe the HD in it is still fine, but need to get a hold of an external case to make a USB drive or something. Although, not the best batch of pictures in the world since it turned out my flash sensor was all screwed up causing the flash not to work properly. Have to replace two pieces to fix it. Have one of them replaced, the other one is just too expensive. So the flash works most of the time just fine now, just sometimes doesn't fire off. It sucks, but was out of warrantee by...gasp, 3 weeks.
I use a laptop and simply can't place the HDD in it.
I think I will bring it to Kyau vs. Albert on the 26th and then Mike Shiver on the 27th. Yep, will prob be out both nights. Michelle and the baby are going down to LA that weekend for her sister's bridal shower so I will prob have nothing better to do.

Thanks. We actually just got a few into work so once everyone is back from CES in Vegas and we can catelog, I will just borrow one of them for a night.
I really hope the drive is OK. Just about all the pics I took from Oct 2004 (when Michelle and I moved in together) through the beginning of Oct 2006 were on that drive. I usually back things up or keep important things on a seperate drive other than the system drive but of course I was dumb and never did that with my pics. They are all in the My Documents/My Pictures folder on the system. In the good ole days I'd just take the drive in and put it into a system at work, but our company has gotten all strict about doing those things and can actually track changes we make on the systems...so haven't been able to do that. The drive does not spin up at start, but then againbasically nothing on the computer does. Thought it was a power supply that melted but replacing the power supply didn't fix it. So it's either the motherboard or the CPU...if it was all caused by a power surge in the end, the circuitry in the HDD could have been affected too. The system is on a surge protector of course but its warrantee ran out like a billion years ago, hehe....I think it was a power surge though because around that time we were coming home and all of clocks were reset and blinking almost every day for a few weeks for some reason. So I think the system (which was on 24 hours a day) got fried by the power switching off and on one too many times.
I will be bummed if I can recover the drive. Sending them in for repair is wayyyy too expensive, so if slapping it into an external case doesn't fix it, I will have last thousands of pics.
