Apple iPhone

"Capping literally years of speculation on perhaps the most intensely followed unconfirmed product in Apple's history -- and that's saying a lot -- the iPhone has been announced today. Yeah, we said it: "iPhone," the name the entire free world had all but unanimously christened it from the time it'd been nothing more than a twinkle in Stevie J's eye (comments, Cisco?). Sweet, glorious specs of the 11.6 millimeter device (that's frickin' thin, by the way) include a 3.5-inch wide touchscreen display with multi-touch support and a proximity sensor to turn off the sensor when it's close to your face, 2 megapixel cam, 8 GB of storage, Bluetooth with EDR, WiFi that automatically engages when in range, and quadband GSM radio with EDGE. Perhaps most amazingly, though, it somehow runs OS X with support for Widgets, Google Maps, and Safari, and iTunes (of course) with CoverFlow out of the gate. A partnership with Yahoo will allow all iPhone customers to hook up with free push IMAP email."(Courtesy of Engadget)

Apple iPhone vs. Nokia N95 hmm not sure what will I choose yet.

One thing I like about the N95 it has an active GPS and an auto-focus 5mb digital camera. Plus it runs on HSDPA, which will be used all over the globe in the next couple of years.

One thing hopefully by the end of the year the Rev.B comes out so we can install like Skype or what not, plus have more than 8 gb of space.

One thing it be nice if its unlocked.

It's a Cingular exclusive at the moment, so don't get all your hopes up on importing one it's GSM, so the phone will work on any GSM network, however, some of the weird features (like the voicemail stuff) only work on Cingular.

I have a feeling some people will go to the extreme and try and find a friend in the states to open a new account so they can get the phone.

Whatever, it comes out in June. Who knows by then everything can change.

Actually... I might just get the Nokia N95, until the iPhone Rev.B comes to Canada.

---

Rev.B (hopefully)

* 10 - 36 GB NAND
* Quicktime
* iChat
* UMTS (3G) or HSDPA (3.5G)
* 5+ Megapixel camera
* Front VGA camera (for conferencing)
* GPS
