the end of tracid traxx

taken from kai's website

quote:
You've been waiting for a long time - but now, with the start of the new year, Kai Tracid is back from his creative break!

Since he left publicity after his gig at the Nature One in 2006 (Kastellaun - Germany), Kai needed to take some time off to relax and re-discover his musical roots. Now, his sense for emotional music is back once again and the year 2007 starts with a whole bunch of overwhelming news!

The long expected news: Yes, there's gonna a new Kai Tracid-album and it's done and ready to go! Since the last single extraction "Conscious",

3 years have gone by. Now Kai has merged his personal retrospective of the last few years into a new Studio-album called Immortal- Studioworx 2003-2006. For the most part you will find a collection of unreleased tracks created between 2003 and 2006. Some Sound-samples and further information can soon be found on www.tracid.de or www.myspace.com/kaitracid

As a result of Kai's musical development - Apart from the Tracid Traxxx sound - There are also some changes in 2007: After 7 years, Kai has finished the collaboration and production work for the Warmduscher project and also leaves the project A*S*Y*S, which he called to life together with Frank Ellrich in 1995. A*S*Y*S will be continued solely by Frank Ellrich in the future.

The upcoming release A*S*Y*S - Cheers (TTX2060), which was already produced mainly by Frank himself, will be the last release of Kai's Tracid Traxxx label.
"It doesn't make much sense to continue one way when your heart is already pointing in another direction...".

Kai is really looking forward to start this new year with many changes, which will help him to unfold his personal style in the future even more. It will be an exciting year for Kai Tracid - and surely for you also. So enjoy the new productions

Kai and his Team wish you all the best for 2007!

basicly, kai shuts down tracid traxx and starts over again, probably shifting into "normal" acid stuff such as the stuff on Kai's Acid Files imprint. can't blame him, since the hardtrance sound that was on tracid traxx is dead now and the fact that Kai's djsets during 2006 didn't fully reflect the sound that he was pushing, he was playing more acidhouse&techno stuff.

I was worried that TTX would eventually end up following the very same hardstyle trend Kai has been adamantly opposing for the last 5 years. Good to see that that won't happen.

His Acid Files stuff was mint so if he's no longer going to do hard trance than I really hope it's the acid house/techno route for him here on out.

As long as he's not abandoning the 303 I know I'll be happy

I think he's married to the 303, I couldn't imagine a kai sound without it in some form or another Glad he's not gone down the route most hardtrance has now too, gotta respect the guy for having his morals & not selling out like many would've.

Yeah, gotta agree with that. He could have done a lot of crap to keep up with the current trends of hard trance, turning it into hard style or something.

Have been listening to his stuff since his Mac Acid/Formic Acid days and will definitely follow whatever he does next.
