Maneater!

Nelly Furtado - Maneater

No no, not Hall & Oates... Nelly Furtado!

There are at least four things I love about this song/video:

1) I love how they mic'd up the drum kit for this track. It's sounds as if the levels are up way too high and the mics were too close to the drums - but it sounds exquisite IMO.

2) Nelly does this shoulder-shimmy dance move in the video that is bloody awesome - it is during the "maneater chorus" part. Not only does it look nice it is FUN to do. Check it out.

3) The video has a dog in it. Dogs make everything better.

4) The melody of this track is pretty tight as well. The chorus tune and dance bit is the best part of the song.

I would prefer if the video for the song was actually you standing up on top of a chair at the madison doing the dance yourself RJ.

Did the MuchMusic countdown have anything to do with this new found fondness of maneater?

i prefer say it right...


however, nelly gets a big up for her new album from me also justin and her did something good for POP music this year.

OMG I am soo loving this track right now!

On New Years Day at Zone Sydney Blu dropped a wicked electro remix of this track. Boy I haven't danced that hard in I don't know how long.

If anybody know's the name of the remix I'd really really appreciate it.

I like this song but she should leave the dancing for Madonna, the girl can't move. She gets by on shimmies, lol

I agree...the dancing sucks in this...except for the shimmie part. IMO her video looks like she's trying too hard to be like Madonna. I can't really explain it but it's just the feeling I get. Perhaps Madonna was her inspiration.

I've never been a big fan of Nelly Furtado and this video doesn't really change my opinion. Although the song isn't bad (the drums do sound cool), I find the verses and her voice are really annoying.

I must say though, she looks phenomenal in the video.

First RJ had his slightly had a few drinks grin on his face. Then he errupted from his half perched/half hovering position to take a one up one down position, with one foot on the couch, the other on the chair.
From here on in it was all lips and shoulders.
Lips doing the singing of courses, shoulders the shimmying.
The lips shivered and flapped to the tune of good ole Nelly, while the shoulders did a violent shake, similar to how a forklift opperator would need to shake his vehicle back and forth if he were attempting to lower a large parcel that had become lodged in between two other objects.
Then it ended.

She did pretty well with her new album this year, alot of catchy tunes...good for her
