Review: Rene Amesz @ Hotel

First off I have to say I haven't been to Hotel in around 5 years and I hated it then and I hated the crowd and the ordeal getting in. It didn't ruin the night, but getting in was a bit of an ordeal unless you had a vagina (didn't have to be good looking), knew a bouncer, dj, promoter, or were a professional wrestler.

Anyway once I got in I had a great time. Crowded, but not too bad as I am use to it from going to Guv.

Have to admit the music was great (Sunday Morning - song of the night again, just hope this doesn't get over played)and I wish I could have stayed longer as Rene was playing exactly what I love, but I had to be responsible and I left at 2am.

Rachel was hammered, Graham was "rocking it out" on the dance floor, and I saw a bunch of people who haven't been out in a while.

All in all a good night out before a 8AM meeting.

i am jealous... i can only imagine what is going on right now

wowowow.. i had a blast!!!!!!!!!! soo good to see everyone again... after soo long...

im finally home.
tonight was incredible. i havent heard such dirty-filthy beats from an international headliner for a long time. rene amesz really delivered.
hotel was rammed. there was a great vibe because everyone was there for the music. i didnt see anyone that was there because they hopped on the bandwagon.

it was nice seeing a whole bunch of ta's at hotel. woot

Worth it though.

First time at Hotel and after a brief bit of frustration in line, we were in(Thanks Joe)and it was madness already.

Manzone and Strong played a really good opening set for the night, it seemed to me like they changed their style just slightly away from their normal saturday night drink tunes particularly the last 45 mins or so before Rene came on which made for a really good transition.
It was madness for at least half an hour before he even came on.

When he did I was quite impressed with his energy, and even more impressed with his tunes.
So was Simon Jain apparently who was flying around the booth behind them, fuckin awesome.

I enjoyed his set from beginning to my end, which was about 30 mins before the party ended since I was up so early today.
It was great to get an opportunity to see a DJ who is completely in the limelight with his tunes right now.

After hearing Insomnia and the Chilli's remix countless times over the past month or two, it was great to hear them come from him, made it that much better.

Great party.

- Simon rocked it, playing my two favourite Toolroom tunes and had the crowd getting anxious.

- M&S were awesome, "Rej" into "House in Play" into "Sunday Morning", from then on the party was in full swing. lol Although M&S have many residencies throughout the city I always feel like they are the most comfortable, the most at "home" at Hotel.

- Rene totally delivered. That guy is made for Toronto, great booking.

tune of the night for me was "rene amesz - climb the wall", so good!

here's a video of sander playing it in Rotterdamn (of all places, I've been to this venue lol )

Had to leave at 2.30, was late for work this morning, look like a crack whore and smell like a pre-diswasher wine glass. Nice.

I love this community, have I ever told you all that I love you? Partying with you all just keeps getting better and better!

Rene made my January last night, was stomping on that floor like I wanted to wake the devil - Simon's face was total awe and enjoyment and it was blatantly obvious that Rene adored playing for us.

I had to wait in line for a little while, with no coat - b/c I'm dumb and thought we'd walk right in. But Manzone was a gentleman and eventually got us in, even after the bouncers said they were at capacity. Thanks

It was my first time at Hotel. At first I thought it was gonna be jam packed and annoying the whole night. But once everything got going it was fine. A decent amount of dancing room up near the front.

The tunes were un-fucking-believeable. I don't think I heard one bad song...and I heard a lot of amazing ones! I couldn't stop dancing.

Seeing all of the TAs was definitly the best part though - as always. Especially the ones I don't get to see that often

yeah graham was there until quite late. not sure if he stayed all the way until the end though.

Had an absolutely amazing nite! The music was definitely worth the hype. It was nice seeing everyone again and meeting a few of you for the first time.

Ok so I was thinking to myself if I�m gonna break my streak of being a good boy during the week might as well be for good reason ..... My night started of pretty normal having a few beers with my fav drunken monkey playing some Ghost Recon, the I msg Maria only to find out that she's trying to score a ride to Toronto too see Rene Amesz and she talks me into talking Dave into driving us to Toronto :P .... I use my great sales skills and persuasion to talk Dave into going. It didn't take much effort as he was pretty set on going already. Before heading out to Toronto I popped in to the Rude Native for some drinks with Carl and to show our local k-w boys some support ( sorry I had to leave before u even got there Robs*ar )

By this time I�m pretty shit faced so Off to Hotel I go! This was my 1st time @ Hotel and I�m always exited to check out a new venue and the place is pretty small really dark and really really over packed so it�s like pretty much like every other place downtown nothing too special... but the tunes OMG were they ever solid I remember bouncing around all night having the time of life telling everyone how much I�m digging the beats I haven't been that impressed with the music in a long time. Great seeing everyone, Shanny, Graham, Cuzo, Dave, Rachel etc always a pleasure. Last night was so worth being late for work this morning I had such a amazing time, I would have liked to have more room to dance but the wikkid tunes made up for anything wrong in the night or the venue�.. I seriously have to move to Toronto as soon as pay off debt for more nights like this

A big thanx to Dave and Maria for taking me with them you guys totally have made my week I such a great time THANK YOU <3!

p.s I�m very disappointed in myself cuz I broke my no smoking rule after only 4 days gotta start over.
