ATTN: All artists who can draw!!!

This last little while I have been reading up on the Chinese zodiac, and personally, although I don't necessarily believe in everything it says, I find it incredibly interesting.

Anyway, I am a Taurean Fire Tiger, and considered getting a tattoo indicating such. So, I am seeing if anyone out there may want to draw my potential tattoo for me.

My idea was a tigers body with a bull head on fire (yes... so creative, I know ), but if anyone has anything cooler, feel free to use your artistic talents.

Just thought I would give some artistic TA's the opportunity to take a shot at this if they so fancied.

BTW, where should I get this tattoo? I was thinking maybe my ankle?

If your having anything with a chinese writing don't have it done on your back. It'll look like you've been buggered by a chinese calligrapher.

Ankle sounds good.

I don't want chinese writing.

That isn't original AT ALL!

I want an actual illustration.

I'm picturing the bull head on the tiger body and... well that just looks stupid.

Same vice versa, as well.

Gotta think up a better mix.

why would you want a picture of something you dont believe in?

Hmmm, well I want the bull horns somewhere. Maybe a tiger with horns? But then it will look like a devil tiger, which I don't really want. LOL!

I just can't picture it in my head to draw it.

If you actually want it done properly, don't ask the c0r. You should go to a tattoo parlor and sit down with them and they might be able to draw it with you there. That's what a few of my friends have done, and it's pretty good. They get to know what you want, how you want it much better because they actually drew it with you there or with your exact specifications.

yup. tiger with horns would be ugly too. i say just the tiger, or just the bull. not both.

It's an interest of mine, and it is a symbol of who I am (indicates my birth). A lot like my Coat of Arms, I don't necessarily believe all that it says properly represents me in its entirety, but it is a symbol that represents who I am and where I come from nevertheless.

Not really. I do have a sincere interest in it, and if you reread what I said "although I don't necessarily believe in everything it says," I never said I don't partially believe in it.

However, I know that the horoscopes are often things that can be universally applicable, so I am not going to be naieve and say "OMG, the horoscopes know everything about me.. blah blah blah."

P.S. If you're attempting to draw this, incorporating the Canadian leaf would be awesome too

LOL!!!! THERESA.

Don't you think too many things together would make it look too cluttered and tacky?

I kinda have an idea, but as someone who draws, it still looks confusing

well, believing in anything it says is pretty retarded. thats ok though. if i were a retard i would definitely want to be branded as well, to warn other people

AND yes, Tricia it could be cluttered and lame, but I think it can be done with some class if it was done right. You'd be surprised at what some real artists can come up with.

pkcRAISTLIN, there is nothing wrong with appreciating a cultures beliefs and being interested in the history and methodology behind it. I am also very interested in the Mayan beliefs and a lot of their customs. It's incredibly interesting as well.

At least I am not considering getting a lame ass tattoo of a butterfly with a rainbow or some B.S. like that. Personally, I think it says a lot about me that if I am even thinking about getting something that will permanently be on me, that it is personal and meaningful.

Appreciating a culture's beliefs =! Tattooing on your person. Stop bsing

come now. lets be honest with ourselves shall we? "appreciating" star signs has next to nothing to do with appreciating another culture. nowhere did i criticise learning about another culture or their beliefs, just mentioned that people that believe in star signs show moderate to strongs signs of mental impairment

You aren't Chinese though.

Gah, fuck off. This isn't a "let's question why Theresa wants to do something" thread.

If you can't draw something, leave my thread okthxbye!

Posted by astroboy on Jan-15-2007 01:59:

Well I think it's a tattoo you might grow to regret since, as you don't believe in astrology it will mean very little to you in the future. But if it is partially motivated by cultural interests, at least don't mix up the cultures. Have a tiger design with a fire element...

... and if you're bent on including western astrology as well then include the astrological symbol for Taurus:
